Chip Kelly left Oregon to become a NFL head coach. Why would Lannings seat be hot?

No he’s obviously not in the hot seat.

But I am surprised they’re not more competitive in the portal.

Two non competitive blowouts in the playoff when they have Nike money aint it. Can't help that the coach who preceded him just brought Miami within a play of winning the title.

You Tigahs and Bammers would all be screaming for his head at this point.

Yeah...that coach who lost to Louisville and SMU and didn't even go to his conference championship...are we seriously going to pretend that if they swap places that Miami isnt in a better position?

Nike money isn’t as big of a deal as it used to be. We have players with Nike contracts. We’re also paying them.

Two programs that have done pretty well for themselves in terms of hardware. Oregon hasn’t done that…yet.

I'm arguing that the combo of getting embarrassed two years in a row in the playoff and Oregon brass seeing Cristobal get to the title game and lose off a bad throw in the waning moments is going to make them that much more itchy w/their trigger finger.

He just got extended 10 months ago.

Coach Dan Lanning has agreed to a new contract with Oregon that will raise his average salary close to $11 million annually, a source confirmed to ESPN on Thursday.

Oregon announced the new deal Friday, saying it will run for six years through the 2030 season. His buyout to leave remains $20 million.

Big extensions aren't the protection they used to be. Just ask Kelly and Jimbo.

No shot. Oregon would give him 10 years before he starts getting questioned if he doesn’t win a championship within that timeframe.

He’s doing well. They aren’t going to risk going back to a willie taggert/ helfrich type era

I think the only teams hes lost in the last three years are the national champions and the runner ups? Indiana, OSU, and Washington off the top of my head. As an LSU fan I wouldnt be entirely mad about it, I get mad when its blatantly obvious we will ONLY beat who we are favored against and not beat who we arent or are slightly favored against.

Literally one of the safest Coaches in America.

You’re comparing him to a guy that left for the NFL.

I don't think Oregon gets itchy trigger fingers. The only coach they've fired in the last 30 years was Helfrich, and that was only because the defense became a catastrophe and they finished 4-8 his final season.

That's not close to happening with Lanning. And I'm someone who has questioned his coaching in big games several times before.

Has A&M’s oil money won anything? A conference championship? A lone, singular playoff game? No? Okay thanks for your concern
