I've been watching Barkley try to throw deep balls for three years. He's simply not very good, especially compared to RGIII. Lee and Woods bail out his crappy throws over and over

Barkley (3): This is Barkley's downfall, where we have him rated the lowest. He has the ability to change release points, but his arm strength is adequate to maybe slightly above average. He doesn't have the prototypical ability to drive the ball downfield, like Joe Flacco or Landry Jones. His deep ball tends to hang up there. He's a guy we believe is a West Coast system-type guy.

Thought you meant RG3. His deep ball is amazing.

Apologies

He did miss a wide open Lee on a long ball towards the end of the first half against Stanford. I remember thinking that will come back to haunt them, and it did.

Have you actually watched him play? he throws lollipops if he's gotta get it past 30 yards

See above. I thought he meant RG3.

I actually don't know shite about Barkley. I avoid USC games I hate them so much.

From what I've heard only an idiot would believe Barkley is a better pro prospect than RG3, although I can't make a definitive statement myself

I would take RG3. Accurate, especially with the long ball. Ability to keep plays alive with his legs. He uses his mobility properly and doesn't bail out on the first sign of pressure. Makes plays with the game on the line (See OU game).

He improved immensely since he got to Baylor. Whether that's due to being easily coached or if things just started clicking for him.

Put him on a team with a pretty good run game, that offense will have success. He'll stretch the field to keep the defense honest.

Yeah, he had Kendall wright, but the rest of the team was still Baylor.

100%

Barkley is great inside 30 yards.

Outside 30 yards the ball has a life of it's own.

Can't decide on who I want the Redskins to put their trust in.

For the Redskins in particular, I'd go with Barkley. I do think RGIII is the more explosive player, but his talents are less suited for that type of offense. RGIII needs to be in an offense that allows him to throw the ball downfield more than the WCO, IMO.

I like how all of the Pac-12 fans think Barkley is overrated (including USC fans), but everybody outside of the Pac-12 loves him (in general). For some reason he reminds me of a right-handed version of Leinart.

Barkley for a pro system.

In college: RG3>Barkley>Luck.

This 100%.

I like Barkley to come in and make immediate impact for the redskins.

However, Griffin could either be a phenom similar to how Newton is doing or he could be closer to VY. Pretty big risk.

Barkley reminds me of a better Jimmy Clausen. Great mechanics/fundamentals and has great weapons to throw to.

That's not to say he will necessarily bust like Clausen, but I don't think his "tools" are as great as they were hyped to be coming out of high school. And Barkley definitely seems to have a better attitude than Clausen.

Yeah super accurate QBs with really good mobility always do terrible in the NFL

Please explain to me what part of his QBing wont be successful in the NFL

Its odd all the RGlll haters have nothing negative to say about him just that "he wont be good in the NFL"

That was the most unimpressive celebration by the players/fans/announcers for a last minute win in an upset ever

There's nothing similar in Griffins game to VY. VY was an average passer with a decent arm at best. There's more similarity in style of play between RGIII and Colt McCoy than Griffin and Vince.

Just heard another NFL comp - Steve Young. That might be the best. Both - accurate throwers, field and off the field smart, great legs, escape artists in the pocket.

The one overrated thing about RGIII is his run ability. He has speed but he's just okay as a runner.
