The Zakai Zeigler case this year.

Sorry, I don’t keep up with college basketball.
Go ahead and remove the G5 teams and see how long it takes before a lawsuit is filed. I would give it days.
BTW, I’m not arguing these G5 teams need to be in.

JMU covered the 21 so they are good in my book

I get that.

I am not advocating for eliminating G5 unless you give them an alternate pathway.
Eliminate all set-asides for conferences and all autobids for conference champions using the top twelve ranked teams as the sole criterion. If a G5 team is in the top 12, so be it, and if the ACC champ, Big10, Big 12, or SEC champ is not, that's OK too.
Or:
Make two separate playoff systems, one for power conferences and one for G5. Maybe even separate them like FBS and FCS are now

What a simp argument. Seriously, this is a low iq take when we have these mega conferences.

It’s already changed for next year. Had this same scenario been next year Duke and Notre Dame would have been in. Next year Notre Dame guaranteed spot if ranked in top 12 and ACC champ in regardless of record or ranking. This year was agreed upon when set up this cycle. This is per Heather Dinowich or however you spell her last name.

There shouldn’t be “mega conferences” that function the way they do now.
The problem being glossed over is how A&M can get in with a soft SEC schedule and without playing the CCG- this is also ridiculous.
Pods are the answer. Win your pod. Then put the pod winners against one another. The eventual victor of that is the “conference champion”.
Conference champions get into play offs. Create g6 play off, the winner of that gets pit against a p4 wild card.
In this system, every game is a play off game. Losing one game in your pod puts you at a dramatic disadvantage.
Everyone has a defined path with similar barriers. People want to blame the “auto bids” but the actual problem is that even after all these years, it still comes down to rankings influencing the post season.
Entry into the playoffs should be defined, clear, and objective with no influence by any “committee” or whatever.

I will forever have a grudge against my university for laying an egg yesterday. The damage will take a decade to heal.
