#1 Indiana vs #2 Georgia for the BCS title in a heavyweight fight.
What about Texas Tech? They lost one game and that was without their QB.

This would’ve been a much better end to the season than what we are going to get.

thought we had it right with the four team playoff
So, who would make it this year?
Indiana
Georgia
Texas Tech
Who is 4? Ohio State? Why not Ole Miss? Why not Oregon? Texas A&M?

Not to mention they beat the piss out of literally everyone else on their schedule

You two are melting all over this thread.

Here we go again
The only way to fix this crap is to do like basketball and invite everyone with a pulse, 66 team (including a play in).
Of course #68 would be online squalling the next day about being left out
The two best teams played last night

So A&M doesn't even get a shot to play Georgia?
They didn't play Alabama or Georgia during the regular season.
That is why the BCS was eliminated

Ohio State’s Oline is the best I’ve seen this year. Indiana isn’t winning a rematch
That O-Line got dominated by Indiana’s D-Line. 5 sacks.

Who is melting, queer? We all just talking. Nobody cares about any of this outside of banter.

Just let ChatGPT pick them

Here’s one plausible 12-team College Football Playoff field based on results as of December 7, 2025. I picked teams largely in the top 12-15 of the latest CFP rankings and/or conference champions — so this reflects what many analysts expect the committee to choose.
? Likely 12-Team Field (as of Dec 7, 2025)
Ohio State Buckeyes
Indiana Hoosiers
Georgia Bulldogs
Texas Tech Red Raiders
Oregon Ducks
Ole Miss Rebels
Texas A&M Aggies
Oklahoma Sooners
Alabama Crimson Tide
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
BYU Cougars
Miami Hurricanes
Why these teams:
The top 6 (Ohio State, Indiana, Georgia, Texas Tech, Oregon, Ole Miss) are consistently in the top part of the CFP rankings following conference-championship results.
Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Alabama, Notre Dame, BYU, and Miami round out the at-large/at-large-contender slots based on their records, strength of schedule, and performance throughout the season.
?? Why this is hypothetical:
The final official 12-team bracket is set by the CFP Selection Committee — they may choose differently, especially if upsets or surprising results happen at the last minute.
Some “bubble” teams (especially in the 9–12 range above) could be bumped out if another lower-ranked team wins a surprising conference title or has a strong finish.

I'm cool with the OG BCS top 2 playing it out, but top 4 playoff is definitely the MAX.
What's the top 4 this year when ran thru the OG BCS system?
The current system shows how greed destroys.

Doesn't matter. The thread is talking about the BCS, so to stay on topic whichever teams land in the top 4 based on the BCS calculations are in. No bias politically driven "committee" needed. No further discussion is needed. Simple.

My post was why they got rid of four teams. There’s not a clear cut top four.
Posted on 12/7/25 at 9:13 am to witty alias
It would be clearcut if BCS was still being used.

I posted this in a different thread but here are my thoughts
I think it's a far better system to have 2 rock solid worthy teams who won their way in and occasionally leave out a team who has a decent argument (like Texas Tech this year)
The current playoff system punishes the top finishing teams like Indiana and Georgia, who clearly earned their shot, and lets in a bunch of trash who have no business being there.
When you have 3-4'ish actual legit contenders, 2 spots is fine.
Expanding to 12 spots is not fair to the teams at the top who earned it. They now have to run a gauntlet they've already ran and won.
There will be 12 teams in the field and 7 or 8 of them have absolutely no business out there.

That’s such a ridiculous thing to say. If the NFL did that, you would hate it.

Of course it would be. You may not "think so" but it's clearcut data that everyone agreed to. No talking about it to bring in more money for espn, no bias, just data.
Of course people whose teams land in 5-7 will have the whiney sads, but tough shite. Numbers are numbers. And ADs and coaches know exactly what is needed from the start, and aren't whining like politicians to convince the committee.
Now we have fans that land in 13-16 whining. Getting back to strict data is the only solution.
