Thanks for the update....I put Tyler's salary because he was the coach a couple of days ago and that was the latest salary figure I had to work with

no clue, she probably also wanted to be closer to her family

Do you think she stays? I was under the impression that she just came to Ruston to help tutor Summitt. I figured she would bolt.
Would be shocked if she stayed. I think she would rather ease back into semi-retirement or whatever it was she was doing.

She did pretty well when she was head coach at Kentucky, but that has been a while ago now.

LA tech has a great history of women's basketball. Try not to be an idiot.

She left UK because she didn't want to be the HC and in the limelight. She was successful as a HC, and I think would be again.
She was an assistant under Summitt for like 30 years.

Now look at these numbers and tell me with a straight face that Tech could have ever kept Kim Mulkey for more than a couple of years even if they had signed her.
That wasn't my point. My point was that Tech was a powerhouse under Barmore. He was 35-5 in his last year in 2002. The fall off didn't come in the 80's and 90's when teams started investing more in their programs, like you said; it came when he retired.
Mulkey would have kept it going as long as she stayed at Tech. When she left, then the fall off would have occurred.

Just heard that McClendon held a press conference. Did anyone catch it? Was it just the same old same old "we will move forward" speech?

Brooke Pumroy...come on down!

Attempts to reach Pumroy for comment were unsuccessful. She announced during the season she would forgo her last year of eligibility, and on Friday Ashley Santos’ parents said their daughter, Pumroy’s former roommate, did not know where Pumroy was.
“She hasn’t seen her,’’ Lori Santos said. “She hasn’t spoken to her. Nothing."

I'd be embarased for Santos that she even has to respond to these types of rumors

he is profoundly upset that he got caught.

Yeah I think pumroy is who most people thought it was. She sounds kind of nutty in the interviews I've read.

She had a good run at Kentucky and was a huge part of the Lady Vols success as an assistant. Back in the day she was a ferocious recruiter and a very solid game day coach, but like folks have said she just doesn't seem to like being a HC.
Lets be honest, she went to LA Tech to help out her best friend's son and because its close to her family. She might stay on as HC for a season or two to help right the ship but at the age of 60 I doubt she wants the hassle of a full time head coaching gig, especially one that looks like a substantial rebuild.

And Im a tech fan first. Just signed up yesterday and still trying to figure all this sig stuff out.
Welcome to the site! If you want a sig, you'll need to sign up at an image hosting site first. I recommend imgur. A good photo editing site is Lunapic.
Avi image sizes for this site are 150x150. The max sig pic size is 400x150.
Good luck!

One high school junior, Madison Washington of Red Oak, Texas, had given a verbal commitment to Louisiana Tech. She has since decided to reopen her recruitment. Washington's mother, Kimberly, said she reached out to Summitt on Tuesday when she first heard rumors of his departure. According to Kimberly, the 25-year-old Summitt texted her back and said he would call. He never did.
Sorry, he was a little busy

If he can coach football maybe he could hook up with Petrino, since they have a taste for blondes in common.
