I would love a commisioner who played in the league himself. I feel like Goodell is afraid to stand up to the players union, and has bent the knee multiple times on social justice issues which end up dividing the fans. Also would like to start holding players to a much higher standard.

Using the MLS as the benchmark when it’s not close to the most watched league in the US is a choice. Even moreso when you consider its insignificant % of the total soccer watching pie in the US. That’s like regarding MAC interest as a proxy for the entirety of college football

Sweet summer child might be understating it
Kids grow up here, playing football and soccer. The kids that grow up playing football, and their parents go on for the rest of their lives watching football games. The kids that play soccer, don't even watch soccer matches. Do you know how I know this? I can't find a damn soccer match on any channel that isn't obscure in this country.

Again Einstein, the NFL is apparently trying to drag South America into watching professional football, but there is zero base to draw from because NO ONE PLAYS THAT SPORT IN THAT PART OF THE WORLD! The super smart people that run the NFL know this. Bad Bunny halftime show was just a ploy to get those 3rd world countries to tune in for the 20 minute show, then throw those numbers at the companies next year for an increase in ad costs. What they didn't factor in, was an alternative show that pulled away a significant amount of people that live and consume in the world's largest market. Kid Rock currently has the #1 downloaded song on the charts. Just think, is next year going to be even a bigger draw if the NFL trots out another "artist" that even the players playing in the game aren't familiar with? If TPUSA makes this an ongoing event, huge names will start lining up and fighting to be the next headliner for their event.

Unfortunately that sounds like you may have a chromosome issue. The same channel suite that carried the Super Bowl carries the most widely viewed soccer league in the US almost every weekend for 9 months of the year

Soccer, NASCAR, and golf on volume level 3-4, depending on the TV, are great for taking a Sunday nap if the local weather sucks.

It’s ok to be oblivious and retarded, but there’s no need to voluntarily share it with the rest of us
I get it. Your projection is crystal clear.

quote:

MLS TV ratings
The MLS TV ratings have faced a significant decline in recent years. The 2024 MLS Cup final was watched by approximately 533,000 viewers, a new low for the event. This figure includes viewership on both MLS Season Pass and television broadcasts. The TV ratings averaged just 468,000 viewers on both FOX and FOX Deportes, down from 890,000 viewers in the 2023 MLS Cup final. The decline in viewership is attributed to a variety of factors, including changes in the college football schedule and the shift to Apple TV+ as the primary streaming platform for MLS matches.
You seem to be well versed in chromosomal issues. The projection you present, suggests that the short bus driver requires you to sit on the first seat so that a good eye can be kept on you.

The fact that you think something is televised equates to viewers, suggested that caregiver is routinely present to wipe the tapioca off your chin. Congrats on getting internet and computer free time. I'm sure it was well earned.

Are you kidding? Goodell lives for the virtue signaling bullshite. He hates the game of football and NFL fans. They are just a necessary vehicle by which he can pursue his social justice warrior crusade.

I think the league is doing just fine $$$. Not sure “divided fans” are hurting the owners pockets

Well he did sign off on a halftime show that few of the 80K fans in attendance could see or even understand, I imagine he's been fielding calls from upset corporate CEOs all day, with complaints about how they lost 10+million eyeballs for their $15 million, 30 second ad because a shite ton of people tuned away.

Careful what you wish for, the next commissioner may only speak Spanish and will move half the games to Europe and Central America.
