There’s a big name team out there that’s going to benefit from Notre Dames premature move with Freeman..

He needed to gain the experience and contacts as a head coach somewhere less prestigious..

In the end… maybe he can get notre dame going this or next year but that could get bumpy

He'll get 3 years. He needs to find a new OC

They've got a 5-star QB (Llyod Carr's grandson) slated to come in next year.

He will get 4 years minimum.

Nothing other than the media's boner for hating BK.

Agreed, but it's only because ND will never admit they wished BK never left. They literally can't fire Freeman too soon.

This is just not true and has been discussed ad nasuem. This team has nothing at QB, bunch of new guys on the OL, and little to no talent at WR. Defense is solid, and has been what has kept them in games so far.

That still doesn't excuse losing home games to bad Marshall and Stanford teams.

I think most people believed ND was overrated in the preseason polls, but they were still ranked #5. This wasn't supposed to be a rebuilding year for them.

Hopefully Freeman isn't as obsessed with improving his short game as Ty was. Otherwise he'll get more time if they see the effort and not him booking recruiting trips around tee times.

Notre Dame barely has Power-5 players in their front 7. Some of their linebackers, safeties, and defensive front are astonishingly bad

That's just not true Notre Dame has PLENTY of talent. They are far and away more talented than Stanford. From 2018-2022 every single recruiting class they've had was top 15.. 3 of them being top 10. So EASILY top 10 in the nation in terms of talent on the roster.

The way you put it, it makes it seem like Kelly's recruiting was the process... However, the stats show that it's the coaching that sucks. And that's not to say the players don't actually suck. They may very well be trash. But that would be because Freeman and crew haven't coached these clearly talented kids up. End of discussion.

Let's be real. ND would NEVER consider firing him until at least year 3. They have the #3 recruiting class in the nation this year... And they haven't had a class like that in years! People LOVE stars. So, if he can continue to bring in big players, he'll have a job

They should be able to beat Marshall and Stanford with the 5th string QB. Lack of talent my arse.

He’ll get 3-4 years just because notre dame would get hammered as racist if they fired him.

Buddy of mine who is a huge ND fan and was in favor of the hire tells me the AD locked down their OC before he even hired Freeman, in effect tying his hands on that hire not letting Freeman pick his own guy....and he was furious with the offensive game plan.

Says ND outweighed Stanford by 65 lbs. on the line but did not try to establish a run and instead had their undersize QB pocket passing all night.

I did not watch the game so just reporting what he said. And not sure if all ND fans are delegating blame as he is.

The “ND has no talent” excuse doesn’t hold weight, especially when they’re losing home games to Marshall and the worst Stanford team since the Walt Harris era.

And don’t look now, but the bloom has come off the Marshall rose and they’re 3-3 now, so Notre Dame can’t exactly point to them as some trendy, hot G5 team this year.

Notre Dame isn’t the school that typically does that.

They hired a high school coach and a guy who claimed he graduated from a made-up university on his resume.

Reading their boards, it appears that most are willing to put all of the blame on the OC this year and hold out hope that Freeman recruits better than he picks assistants. I doubt you hear much about a hot seat unless he loses to scrub teams again next year. This year is just proof that Rees without the BK filter is just not a good OC

Completely agree, those are inexcusable losses, but that doesn't mean this

Because poll voters are idiots. Anyone who looked at this roster and thought it would be a top 15 team is completely biased or just looking at the name. This offense was always going to be real bad. 9-3 was the ceiling. This is the exact reason why people hate on ND for always being overrated, because dumbass AP writers put them extremely too high when the large majority of the fan base knows they aren't that good.

Reese was an absolutely terrible hire and was sign #1 that this could go very badly.

10000% this. We have a 230 pound power back and he called a jet sweep on 4th and 1 inside the red zone that got stopped early in the game. Estime and Diggs only had combined 17 carries, and averaged 7.1 and 6.3 yards respectively, but we kept relying on a QB who was 13/27 passing. Absolutely dumb coaching.

Who has said that in this thread? Show receipts. Saying this team lacks talent and has holes has nothing to do with saying it is BK's fault.
