You'll get more shared bowl revenue by both teams being in the finals. More free money isn't a bad thing, is it?

It dates back to before the playoff system and tines when deserving SEC teams got passed over for the National Championship games in favor of teams from the Midwest and West. It made for hype that caught on and got the SEC more notice than they previously received. It's not necessary any longer.

Unless it definitely will help LSU, why would I ever do such a thing.

This game will be a reference point for years to come, so your feelings should probably be based on that.

Bama wins big = reluctance to ever let a G5 team in again.
Cincy wins= every undefeated/1 loss G5 with a horrible schedule is right in the thick of the playoff hunt moving forward.

The “conference pride” thing is stupid- but it’s still a symbiotic relationship whether anyone likes it or not, and the G5 teams are basically viewed as a big conference.

Just be careful what you wish for. There’s a scenario where a 12-1 SEC team doesn’t make the conference championship game and gets left out of the playoffs for a 13-0 Boise State down the road if Cincy wins Friday. It is absolutely an experimental game that will be used as a reference from here on out- which isn’t fair to either side but it’s human/media nature

You’re wrong. If LSU takes care of business they will be in playoff. That simple.

The respect the SEC gets is why they have two teams in the playoffs. That respect comes mostly from winning playoff games. LSU benefits from that respect. One year we might win a championship that, but for that respect, we would not have had a chance at, just like Georgia might do this year. Georgia would not be in the playoffs had Bama, UF and LSU not won half this century’s championships.

It’s not 2004 anymore.

In the BCS days before re-alignment, when the P5 conferences were generally regarded as equals, yeah pull for your conference.

Bama winning another title now is of absolutely no benefit to LSU, UGA, Florida.

I don't think I'd root for Bama if they were playing an allstar team comprised of tOSU, USCw, ND, and Florida players - current and alum.

If Al-Qaeda had a football team, I’d pull for them over Alabama.

And there it is in those statements, where the anti-Cincy sentiment has its roots.

While about a 0.01% chance of actually happening, it would so awesome to see Cincinnati win the whole damn thing.

Alabama winning or losing this playoffs doesn’t affect whether players will sign there as much as

1. LSU archaic marijuana policy.

2. LSU couldnt even keep it’s starting RB eligible.

These kids know when they go to Bama they will be eligible to play. Bama is more committed to winning.

Last time Bama had a starter ruled Ineligible for grades or marijuana? Doesn’t happen because there is alignment there that doesn’t exist at LSU.

I can only think of a handful of instances in which I could pull for Alabama.

A) The result would be positive for LSU, like we need an Auburn loss to advance to the SECCG for instance.
B) Against a team I REALLY hate like Ohio State or USC or maybe Notre Dame.
C) There is no C.

Definitely won't be pulling for Alabama this round.

This. We need all the money we can get the way we are spending it.
