Yep. Richardson couldn't even hit screen passes when he was in college.

Also any average fan on their couch could look at Bryce Young and know he was a system QB too small and untalented to perform in the NFL.

Right. Often, scouts ignore guys who make plays because they lack measurables

Josh Allen’s college QB rating was 137. Richardson a was 133.

That’s why Richardson was drafted high because the Colts wanted the next Josh Allen.

There’s no science to QB drafting, no matter how holistic you want to get

Well, inaccurate college QBs seldom become accurate pro QBs

Correct. And one time it became Josh Allen and he’s awesome. So they’ll try to find that again.

Remember Jake Browning? From Washington? Tennessee thought he would be Josh Allen.

That was Jake Locker who was drafted like 10 years before Allen

Sorry, Locker. Had all the measurements, big arm, 55ish percent passer in college.

Anyone with 2 working eyes could see Richardson was a terrible pick.

But he was big and fast and had this great arm!

Didn’t Josh Allen put up some really good numbers in college? Those ratings don’t seem correct. Did ESPN come up with them?

Richardson was wildly inconsistent at Florida. Like the poster above said, anyone with two working eyes could tell that Richardson was arse and would be so at the next level as well.

And yet people swear by recruiting rankings from amateur "scouts" on high school kids.

shite no, 56% completion junior and senior years with 21 INT's and only threw for 1,800 yards his senior year and didn't even win OPOY in the MWC and was 2nd team MWC QB. And obviously that is against pretty bad competition. He had a lot of flaws coming out of college.

NFL scouts have zero influence on first round quarterback draft picks.

Never underestimate the fingerprints of ownership, and many owners don't know football but they think they do. David Tepper wanted Bryce Young so the Panthers took him instead of C.J. Stroud. Jim Irsay supposedly was behind the decision to bench Anthony Richardson. Deshaun Watson lost his job only when he got hurt because Jimmy Haslam was paying him a fortune to play. If owners are involved in personnel decisions of who plays and who doesn't, then it figures they're involved in draft choices at the top of the draft.

As for everyone else, drafts are about raw skills as much as about college production.

if both were available in the same draft, should Young and kyler murray both get passed over for the same reasons?

The draft is a craps table where all the players think they have the winning strategy on their side, in reality the table goes hot and cold no matter who you are or how you play it.

There will be a whole lot of GMs getting fired over the next 10 years looking for the next Josh Allen. His accuracy leap from college to the NFL is such an anomaly that it shouldn't really even be a thought when NFL teams are evaluating college QB prospects.

When you have idiots like this guy wanting to be a scout what else do you expect?
