The #7, and McCaffery is a reasonable offer for #1.
The problem is that the Bengals have a very good RB already. That offer wouldn't be considered.
problem is that 5th and 6th picks are the only other first round qbs, tua and herbert.
i like the deal otherwise.
mccaffery can play slot, wr and share carries.
another first round lineman for me at 7.
dalton is ok.
im not convinced burrow is the be all end all.

I think he is the most complete back in the NFL.

I agree but that's not really the point, the position is devalued, its stupid to overpay RB's and would be beyond stupid to trade the #1 pick, especially in a draft with potential franchise QBs, for one that will want a huge contract. The only way it makes sense to trade the #1 pick for a QB is if you get back multiple picks, 5-6 picks in return, a RB because he's the best in the league right now doesn't change that.

Newton is washed up. So, basically McCaffery for Burrow? I don’t think Bill O’Brien would make that trade.

i could see taking the utah state guy at 7.
mccaffery is all world.
i would do it and try to squeeze for a 5th round or 6th round too.

i would deal the #1 overall for mccaffery, the 7th in first round and whatever else i can get as gravy. say a low 5th or high 6th. i dont know what carolina has in late rounds. lets say a compensatory 5th so very late 5th.
why?..
1. i, as TDgm, really wanted mccaffery when he came out.
now im certain.
2. im taking jordan love at #7.
2020 NFL Draft: Utah State QB Jordan Love scouting report
?by John Newman
Utah State quarterback Jordan Love has entered the 2020 NFL draft. This draft report breaks down his background, performance and where he goes from here.
The college football enigma that is Jordan Love has declared for the 2020 NFL Draft. A relative unknown before 2018, Love has skyrocketed up the quarterback draft boards in the weeks since his draft announcement. While 2019 might have been a tough year for Love and the Utah State Aggies, Love has put enough on film the past two seasons to make football insiders excited at the prospect of Love entering the NFL.
The way it was explained to me was that Love looked a lot like Patrick Mahomes coming out of college. A player from a medium-sized football program, with obvious talent, who could throw the ball vertically down the field like an elite quarterback, with great accuracy, but who had less than ideal technique.
Nobody wants to admit they were one of the many people who slept on Mahomes coming out into the 2017 draft. Now people are falling over themselves to label Love as the next messiah for one of the NFL’s quarterback-needy teams.

jordan love's hands are 1.5 inches bigger too.
the nfl ball is bigger.
for amusement purposes only.
neither of them are fast.
why?..

because that trade is Carolina absolutely raping Cincinnati. As pointed out earlier in the thread trades to move up for the #1 pick to take a QB have been getting 5-6 draft picks and a minimum of 2 firsts, so even if you count CMac as a 1, they'd still need a couple of 2's and 3's not just late round throw ins

bully for you, but this is the problem. first of all Cincinnati has Joe Mixon, who was one of the better RB's at the end of the year so they don't need a RB. Now I'm sure this is where you tell me about how much better CMac is. blah, blah, blah, which brings us the main point that you and others are missing, THAT DOESN"T MATTER, RB is a devalued position in the NFL, its stupid to draft one in the first round and even worse to give one a huge contract, which I'm sure CMac will want (and receive) in a couple of years). And While you are patting yourself on the back for being right about CMac, 2 picks after he was drafted the Chiefs took Mahomes

Tell me more about the size of their middle toe, it means just as much.
I wasn’t saying he doesn’t have bigger hands, I was saying it doesn’t mean shite you dumbass

Accepting that trade would be a fireable offense for the Bengals GM.

Hand size is only marginally important if you're playing games in beyond frigid temperatures, which doesn't happen very often in Cincinnati.
By beyond frigid, I mean single digit temperatures and lower.

da bengals could do burreaux a HUGE favor and trade the pick for multiple picks, then draft to rebuild the offensive and defensive lines, selecting burreaux will be just like the Houston Texans selecting David Carr #1, then they proceed to set the NFL record for most sacks allowed and literally broke Carr physically and mentally, punch drunk looking for the next d-lineman or LB coming to smack his arse, never returned to anything close to the potential when drafted #1 in 2002...

The Bengals last 2 first round picks were Billy Price C - tOSU and Johan Williams OT from Bama, who missed last season with an injury. How long do you figure a team needs to spend building an oline? You mention the Texans and David Carr but fail to mention they were an expansion team, in any event, lots of other QB's have been drafted #1, some did well others did not. Did the Colts have a great oline in place when they drafted Peyton Manning?

You are undervaluing McCaffery by a lot. He's worth a lot more than a future #1.

This is the issue. Mixon is a borderline stud. The fit of this trade doesn't exist.
