Yeah, definitely.
Reason I said that was because I had a friend who passed away from alcoholism and this film brought back a lot of bad memories.

Bradley Cooper is becoming quite the mental health advocate in his own way. I thought Silver Linings Playbook was above average, but this movie was much better. I've been working in mental health for almost 10 years and parts of this movie were incredibly accurate.
ETA: I also had no clue that was Dice until after the movie

The Grammys was the most uncomfortable I have been watching a movie in quite a while, it was just a Trainwreck you saw coming and couldn't do anything to stop it
This is the pivotal scene in every version of the story. In the earlier versions, it occurs as the Academy Awards. In the Streisand verion, it's at the Grammys like this one.

I thought it was phenomenal....best movie I’ve seen in quite some time.
There two scenes that gave me a visceral reaction...when she was singing with him on stage the first time and the Grammys...I haven’t had a movie impact me like that since Saving Private Ryan...

You folks need to see Blue Jasmine. Dice and Alec Baldwin steal the show in that one.

As much as I like the closing song, looking back I wish they would have closed with Always Remember Us this Way.
100% agree
Have to remember that song was basically his suicide note to her, so that's why it was where it was

**SPOILER**
When they cut from her singing at the service to him singing her the song at home, that was the equivalent to being beaten with a sack of bricks while you sat in your chair. Geez that was a brutal shot directly to your feelings.

I really enjoyed the movie.
The rocking song "Black Eyes" that Cooper played a couple times was pretty darned catchy.
Tinseltown reclining seats are pretty sweet. That was my first time in a couple of years to visit a regular theater. I may actually return based on the comfort of the new seats.

Saw it today. I’m wrecked. I’ll be back at some point when I can talk about it. One of the best movies I’ve ever seen and def in top 2 or 3 most emotional. I was unprepared....

Spoilers!!
Anybody else unable to shake this movie from their head??
Been a day and a half and I can't watch anything else.. I'm constantly comparing it to the visual and emotional spectacle I witnessed... Specifically the last third of the film when you know the inevitability of Cooper (and every other version of Norman Maine, John Norman Howard, etc.) is coming.
The women in my theater were openly weeping... As above stated, the final cut back to Cooper and Gaga at the piano after Cooper had not been on screen for a while... That was the killer...
Honestly though, what has stayed with me the most is the Interaction and chemistry that Cooper and Elliott had. The final truck scene when Elliott's eyes well up after Cooper tells him the truth, the the "12 octave" speech...should guarantee Elliott the best supporting Oscar.
I also like how, just for a split second, the film faked me (and those who have seen the 76' version) out with the quick flash to the motorcycle.
I just knew he was going to get on it loaded and drive off a cliff or into a bus or something.

Same here...the 12 notes speech was awesome and it's part of the soundtrack too..Elliot should at least get a nom out of this

I'm with you man. Since seeing it last Wednesday, I've thought about it multiple times per day.
Downloaded the soundtrack today and already listened to it twice.

Was thinking today about scenes in movies that took me to another plane of existence for a moment.

It really is a movie relationship for the ages. That scene where he is finally taken over by the symbiote and the hulking creature towers over his human adversary... no, wait, that's Venom.
