Great Western but shite. That one scene was brutal.

And ain't nobody buying that Rebecca from Banshee was married to that dude.

This is one of those movies that invariably gets posted by a first time viewer about once a month and its always for the same reason.

Its a good movie but yes that scene is brutal.

I didn’t get through it, I found it gratuitously gross.

It's a horror movie that just happens to be set in the Old West. And frankly I think it would have done better business if it was marketed that way.

I have never watched this film because of the scene mentioned. Heard about it and just said "no thanks"

I realized this movie isn't reflective of real life, but damn they split that dude a little too easily.

Spoiler

From my understanding they cut a dude's leg off and they show the entire thing in very gruesome detail

I haven’t watched it, because frick shite like this, but I’m pretty sure they scalp a dude and split him in two starting at his asscrack.

I haven’t seen it for whatever reason. Not avoiding it, just haven’t turned it on yet for whatever reason. I’ve known of “the scene” for years, but just that it’s violent, not the specifics

I recently watched Brawl in Cell Block 99 with Vince Vaughn. Was expecting some typical revenge violence, but there were some comedically over-the-top violent scenes toward the end. So I looked it up on IMDB and found it was done by the same director as Bone Tomahawk . Made sense. I’ll probably check it out after October, although Netflix is putting it in the “horror” category. Would anybody categorize is as “horror?”

Well, the whole scene lasts less that 30 seconds or so and yes, they do strip Deputy Nick, scalp him then stuff his scalp in his mouth to stifle the screaming, then hold him upside down and split him from crotch to skull to eat him.

As far as the rest of the movie, I found it about as easy to watch as paint dry and grass grow. Don't get the hype to be honest.
