Season 1 is actually a part of the season 2 collection. Season one just started as a mini series

Until the early 80s, only a small number of homes had cable tv so there were 3 networks.

That certainly helped. We didn't get cable in our hood until 87 or 88.

Except as I remember it, everyone hated him then. Now, people are like BadAss GOAT villain is so cool.

Best soap opera ever on TV with the exception of the "dream" season.

I thought Dynasty was pretty good as well. The Krystle/Alexis fights were pretty epic.

Most of the people I knew living in Dallas while it was airing didn't watch it. The culture of the show was more like Ft. Worth or Houston at that time. You didn't see a lot of cowboy hats during a day of doing business in Dallas, especially downtown. My gf worked in the building they showed as the exterior of as where Ewing Oil was located. Never saw anyone down there in western wear. You'd see guys in nice suits wearing exotic boots, but they only wore their Stetson's to C&W Bars, rodeos and Ranger games..

People from Mesquite and Balch Springs wore cowboy hats, but some had cows in their yards.

That house is so small in real life, looked so huge in the 80s though.

Gotta be one of the best JR scenes but there’s so many great ones.
