This has to be one of the best sequels ever made. Easily one of the best movies made from Stephen King's work imo

I just caught this a couple of weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised how well done (and trippy) it is. Agree completely it’s among the best King adaptations.
McGregor was great as usual, but Rebecca Ferguson’s portrayal of Rose the Hat absolutely blew me away. She IS the character and it’s her best role to date imo, and one of the best villains in recent memory. Surprised she doesn’t get more hype for it.

The Shining would be the prequel. Doctor Sleep is about the boy as a grown man who eventually returns to the hotel. I don't want to say more to avoid spoilers

It’s a very good movie.
Which is kinda surprising.

I enjoyed it.
Man, Rebecca Ferguson is so hot, even when she isn't portrayed to be that hot.
The redone Shining flashbacks were pretty awesome and well done.

If you have access to STARZ, she played Elizabeth Woodville in The White Queen (based on the War of the Roses) and was excellent in that as well.

Whole heartedly agree and McGregor was fricking phenomenal in the role. Close to Oscar worthy but of course since it's a heavy genre film he wasn't going to be nominated.

This is a case where the movie is better than the book. Same for the Shining as well.
