Classic SFP. Starts a shitty thread, knowing he would get downvoted to oblivion, then proceeds to argue for 4 pages with everyone. Not one poster agrees with you. And you practice law in your downtime of full time posting? I pray for any future clients you might get.

I see your movie takes are just as awful as your takes on every other board. Way to be consistent, Kyle

I've loved the movie since I saw it in the theater as a college student. It's OK for you to not like the movie, and a trilogy might be much better, but until someone makes one. I still think Excalibur is the standard by which movies about King Arthur are made.I'm not an Arthurian, or even some type of mythology expert. I wasn't a nerdy fantasy reader either. I watched the movie to be entertained. It entertained me.
My girlfriend probably asked me what movie I wanted to watch that week, and I'm guessing I said the previews to Excaliber look great, and we saw it on a Friday or Saturday night. She probably hated it because of the early rape scene, but I loved it and went to see it again with a friend the next week. My friends and I talked about it a lot. It, Excalibur, Animal House, Midnight Express, Apocalypse Now, An American Werewolf in London, The Road Warrior and Blade Runner were big "College" movies for me. By that I mean they were movies my buddies and I talked about a lot. Whether late into the night, when we were high, or between classes, it was one of the movies we loved to discuss.
You mentioned Excalibur and Conan being part of the "rebirth of the sword and sandals epics". The only reason I saw Conan, was because a lady I worked with asked me to take her 13 year old son to see it. I loved it, and was glad I saw it, but it was like Star Wars, Raiders of the Last Arc and ET were for me, kind of a kid's movie that was really good. We didn't talk about it a lot like we did the other movies I listed from my college years.
I probably would have had better grades if I hadn't seen Excalibur and Animal House as a teenager, but, reflecting on that list of movies, they feel like part of my becoming an adult..

I didn't downvote you. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

the magnitude of the wholesale rejection of your dollar store siskel & ebert attempt reminds me that that there is still sanity and good taste in this world

You suck no matter the topic, discussion or thread. Wow what a dipshit.

Slo, I know you love to make contrarian posts, but this thread is just ridiculous. This is the King Arthur movie all others are judged by.

How can you be so universally hated? Even the movie board downvotes you to hell and back.

Naw. There is a spillover of the emotional types from the poli board for sure, and I'm not scared to say things that aren't popular, but this is just a meme at this point.
