David Leitch — the stuntman turned director behind John Wick and The Fall Guy — is in talks to direct a new Ocean’s movie, a knowledgeable source confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.

TheInSneider was the first to report the news.

The latest film in the heist movie franchise is expected to see the return of George Clooney as Danny Ocean, with Clooney’s Smokehouse banner behind the Warner Bros project. Brad Pitt, who worked with his former stunt double Leitch on Bullet Train, is also expected to return. The ensemble also includes Matt Damon and Cassey Affleck.

The latest Ocean’s movie would be the first in the main franchise not directed by Steven Soderbergh. (Gary Ross directed Ocean’s 8.)

Further proof, Hollywood has run off all of the creative people.

Agree. I thought it started out a little too slow, but the last hour was GREAT! Loved the truck chase.

Leitch is a good director. Sucks that Soderbergh passed but Leitch is a solid backup plan.

Are they going to ignore the events of Ocean's 8?

We can certainly hope so, can't we?

I don’t know how I feel about this.

There is a certain art to how Soderbergh did these. The timeline jumps mixed with euro-electronic scores made that franchise something different.

Most will go on expecting it to look and sound the same, which it won’t. A different feel to this may be refreshing, but someone who tries to mimic it will fail.

A real lose-lose scenario. At least the cast (whats remaining of it) is returning.

No Soderbergh. No care.

I like the Ocean's movies but this feels like just a cash grab. No Bernie Mac. No Saul. They going to bring the French guy back.too?

Isn't Danny dead? Didn't that make that claim in Ocean's 8? How will that work? They are going to say he doesn't have a sister or that movie never happened?

I think they should leave these movies alone. The all-female Oceans movie was the best one and a perfect way to end the series.

It was a good, fun movie. Calling it an abomination is silly.

I'd be excited for this if Soderbergh were directing

Have you never seen movies?

What are the odds that a con man faked his death is a plot device for a movie sequel?

I thought it was pretty obvious in Ocean's 8 that Danny wasn't really dead. It was also a better movie than people give it credit for.
