Some may not be "prominent" but they had enough screen time to be pretty distracting with their acting:
Soprano's kids
The psychiatrist
Jackie Jr (brutal)
Carmine
Bobby (although his acting gets better as the show goes on)
Most of the wives (e.g., Sil's wife)
Most of the girlfriends
Pretty much all of the FBI agents
Performances like Gandolfini, Pantoliano, Imperioli just made some of the weak actors really noticeable in a lot of scenes to me.

I started a few weeks ago as well. Wrapping up season 2.
Gotta say, I don’t get the hype. Episodes seem slow and there isn’t the “can’t wait til the next episode” feeling.
Coming from someone that thinks Breaking Bad is the GOAT, I’m disappointed. What makes matters worse is that I love most mob movies.
It's not meant to be a "mob" show, like Scarface etc.
It's about Tony Soprano dealing with the shite in his day-to-day life that stresses him the frick out to the point that he has to see a therapist.
The same shite that get us all. fricked up family dynamics. Job security and performance issues. Midlife and mortality issues.
It's really just a human story, and you feel for and root for him, as a human, to overcome those problems so he can find a little happiness and peace. And because he just HAPPENS to be a mobster, those stressors and little victories are often crazy-arse shite. You root for him to take a baseball bat to someone, because he's relieving a little stress when he does

loved the show. have watched the series three times now. the only parts I really don't get into much is Christopher's dabbling in the movie writing/production and music production businesses.

Just because you don't like a character doesn't mean the acting is subpar.

BTW, I've watched it beginning to end a handful of times. Truly the greatest show ever put on TV, and GOT, or anything else couldn't hold Tony Uncle Johnny's jock.
