The season 3 reviews coming out are really promising.
I dont really wanna have anything spoiled though.
Season 3 of Foundation is better than ever
Season 3 a "Masterpiece of Television"

I enjoy the Apple 'version' of Foundation very much.
I know the original material extremely well and never thought, even as I was reading through it, that it would ever be possible to make a movie or show out of it that was watchable. In the Apple adaptation, there's just enough nods to the source that it's familar, but it doesn't ruin itself by trying to tell a story that's a fantastic read, but in no way transferrable to the screen.

Yep, it is the definition of "inspired by the books"

As a stand alone sci-fi show that's fairly well done, yes.
But it shouldn't be called Foundation because in terms of a show based on the source material its pretty bad.
Seems to be the universal consensus. Good actors, visuals, but strays from the original.

The new episode is available and it’s starting off strong.

The visuals in this show are incredible

I was thinking the same thing. They aren’t afraid to light up a scene either. It seems like a lot of shows and movies today light a scene with a single candle from 100 feet away.
The Mule introduction was perfect. Wasn’t expecting a Ralph Ineson appearance for that. Let’s hope he puts up a bigger fight as Galactus than he did against the Mule.
Empire will go down as one of the most successful deviations from the source material ever. Pace is great as always, but Dawn and Dusk deserve recognition too.

quote:Yes, I've enjoyed it very much. I've been enjoying sci-fi shows/movies more as I approach middle age. I think this one is very well done.
Is this series worth starting?
I have not read the books, so I'm not sure how the show compares and stays true to the source material. Looking forward to watching the new season premier this weekend.
AppleTV+ has some of the best shows of all the streaming services IMO.

I decided to get on and watch it last night but found out it was today. SO I started a rewatch from the first episode and im still enjoying it as a non-book reader. I made it through a few episodes last night so I figure I will start the new season some ti me around the second drop.

1st episode was good. Looks like this could be a great season.

I really need to hurry up and finish my rewatch. Hopefully catch up before next episode.

Starting season 3 cold, without any rewatch. It’s weird how there seems to be almost 0 vibe with this season. S1 had such promise and fanfare. S2 was pretty good but there seemed to be a bit of a drop off. It’s like the world has forgotten about this show.
Maybe I can get back into it but so far it seems pretty flat.

This one at least revolves around adults but it has been nearly 2 years since the season 2 ended and before that, two years between seasons 1 and 2. That is a tough cycle to overcome in a binge society that loses interest as fast as it gains it.
Think about the fanfare that stranger things will have after a 3.5 year hiatus but they started with young kids on that show. When season 5 ends, most of the core cast will have gone from 10 or 11 to 21 or 22. That is crazy unless you account for that. I have no idea how you explain away a 4 year time jump with how season 4 left off unless they lose the battle and the world is in chaos off screen and season 5 is about them trying to win the war from the shadows.

So long a stretch between seasons, but then there's also the time jump, so most of what fans remember doesn't matter save for the core characters. Seldon, Empire, Demerzel, etc...
I also listened to the official podcast, which so far hasn't dropped any new episodes, which is weird. I do enjoy them filling in the backstory and explaining stuff I didn't catch while watching.
* Didn’t realize it was dropping one episode at a time. Looks like I have something to watch now.

Finally got around to watching E1. The visuals were astonishing. Am I a nerd now?

New episode is available.

Another really good episode. Like the Mule character. It’s good how they’ve lined up each season around each crisis. That robot lady is a cold hearted bitch.

For some reason I was under the impression that the first 2 or 3 eps would e available, but nope. Once a week.
At least I got to catch up on Murderbot.

Murderbot is far better than S3 of Foundation so far.
