It’s shocking how different Emilia Clarke and Daenerys Targaryen look.

Daario says hi.
I know they also swapped out Ser Gregor too. Recasting Jon, Cersei, Dany or someone else that big would have been tough.
Speaking of Daario (and other abandoned characters), any chance we see anyone again?
Daario- small chance, ruling Meereen in final episode. Either he hears of Dany's success, Dany shows back up to rule Meereen with him and leave Westeros to Jon, or worst case scenario we see him in the temple as snow begins to fall.
Meera Reed- her story is done, but I think we might get a cameo, before she dies in ep 2. That would bring home that the Night King is here. That might be how that episode either begins, or ends. Ep 3, if she makes it to Winterfell (as she should, everyone in the North is supposed to be coming, and she can fight). Might be the last chance for Bran to be "Bran", and show sadness.
Edmure Tully? Where's that cat at now? If he was locked up either at the Riverlands or at Casterly Rock, he should be free now. HE might be an interesting choice to confront Jaime next episode. Last time they met, Jaime was threatening to launch his baby in a catapult. That won't go ever well when Jaime says "I've changed".
Robin Arryn- with Royce now camped at Winterfell for over a season, is anything even going on at the Vale? Maybe the Dead come for him in his 'impregnable castle'.

Worst recast ever. He is by far the worst actor the show has ever had. It was painful to try and watch that to try to be cool. I hated every scene he was in bc of his acting. Minus the part when Emilias tits popped on out of course.

It would be cool as hell if he does show up. He was left in charge but he doesn't really seem like that type of guy.

Speaking of forgotten characters, is there any chance we see Melisandre again? Seems like she could be a pretty useful ally for the Long Night

The original Daario was even more cringey though

She has to come back to die.

I don’t see how you can just warg into another warg. The NK has already cut off Bran from warging in his vicinity, he isn’t just going to let Bran just warg into him.
It’s happened in the books on some level

The original Danny was Tamzin Merchant. They recasted her after the pilot. She could have pulled off the look I think.

I don't think I was ever aware of this. I can't remember the pilot, did she have any scenes I'm forgetting?

Yea she's definitely showing up. She told Varys last season that she had to die in Westeros.
If she tosses that necklace out somewhere I'm sure her old arse will die in a week or two. I'd know I'd be asking her to give it to me, let me live another 100 years or so.

the actors that play edmure and robin appeared in the season 8 cast list distributed to the press a while back, it was posted one of the blog sites...so it appears they will be back
as for the reeds, its appears not.

She was recast for reshoots of the pilot.
There is an unaired version out there that was panned in initial screening.

The original pilot never aired. Catelyn was also recast from that. It apparently was bad

Robin Arryn will make Royce and Sansa cringe, and Dany might feed him to Drogon.
Meera Reed- like I said, Bran's chance to show humanity. Her last scene, he showed he lost that. She's at least a capable archer and fighter and is in the North, and Sansa knows she returned Bran; so if she showed up you'd think someone would at least say hi.
Daario- who cares... when we last saw him, Dany was happy, finally had her kingdom under control, and was generally loved by her subjects. Daario was insanely loyal and led a useful company of sell-swords.
She's now in Westeros, where everything is going sideways, at least half of her inner circle is gone, she's lost a dragon, and the subjects hate/fear her, even when she shows up to try to save their asses from the apocalypse. Jon's taken his place as a lover, but he's also a lot more challenging to her rule, and things look to be increasing on that angle.
Daario, and Meereen, might not be so bad after all.
