by Hugo Stiglitz I can't believe she was actually considering killing herself just so her husband would get the death penalty... That part seemed the most far fetched
Was she really going to kill herself?
For some reason I thought she was cutting her hair and putting it into a ziploc bag to somehow fake her death
Maybe she did say she was gonna kill herself though, I can't remember the exact lines

she had it marked on the calendar but eventually marked it off

She said something about (once picking out an appropriate time) going to the river and taking a lot of sleeping/pain pills with pockets full of rocks to weigh her down.

Okay, but I assume that was after watching his conviction play out
Maybe the hair was gonna be enough to get him convicted if she framed it right

I wasn't sure what the point of the hair collection was, other than removing evidence of her presence in that bathroom. I don't think you can get much of a personal ID from cut hair anyways. You'd need the follicle for DNA, I think.

You're right
That was probably it

My big problem with the stuff in the shed was that couldn't Ben Affleck just say "dust for fingerprints, neither mine nor my sister's will be there. Just Amy's."?
Unless she covered that too and it wasn't in the movie.

My thoughts were he could say...
"Why the frick would I have bought all of this and caused a fight with my wife over it, yet I never opened or used a single item?"
Eta: any guy who buys a drone is gonna have it out of the box on the way home from the store

Another thing with all of that is, the movie implies that much of it was ordered online. Where was it delivered? Who signed for it? How did it get from the delivery location to the sister's wood shed? Someone has to have witnessed some part of that process and noticed it wasn't the husband taking part in it.

So I just watched for the first time and I feel like I've been Soprano'd.
What a piece of shite.
What a piece of shite.

watched it the other night. so many plotholes

Another plot hole is the neighbor who calls BA just to tell him the cat is out and apparently watches the neighborhood because they call him watchful wally or something, never sees Amy leave or any of the other shite. Why even have that neighbor in the movie.

I loved the movie up until Amy returned home. Too many plot holes after that point.
That's how I felt about the book as well. Too unbelievable.
When Amy shows up on his doorstep, under her own free will, with media and cameras all around....how the frick does he not have all the leverage at that point?
He's already told the cops that he thinks his wife is trying to set him up. Now this woman shows up on his doorstep under her own will, and says that the man she just killed was the guy who actually kidnapped her. Why does Ben have to take her back? At that point, any changes to Amy's story about her disappearance would lead to more suspicion to her foul play on the matter than Bens.
The end actually made me mad. I'm supposed to believe that BA would take this pyscho back and not realize that if he outs her right when she comes back, she can't switch her story again and say that he had something to do with her disappearance, after she's killed the other "suspect" and willfully came back to her husband.

I didn't talk to a woman for 2 days after my watch. I was furious.

The town has a huge out of work and homeless population and half the buildings are empty based on the opening scene and some stuff throughout the movie. It also has a huge drug problem. People sneaking around in the middle of the night is pretty much ignored in those communities.
Pretty sure when the cops show up at the sisters to check the shed, the cops specifically say they are there because they got a call from a neighbor that someone was jumping fences and sneaking around in the back.

Amy made that call.

Amy made the call after Nick's interview.
