Yeah...one month later. Why didn't Grey Worm kill Jon as soon as he discovered that he had assassinated his queen?

The North’s army was already there,

And yet Grey Worm didn't realize this until the lords and ladies of Westeros reminded him of this fact....one month later. Because it was quite clear that Grey Worm wanted Jon executed at the meeting.

If he was so intent on justice, he could have levied it out in the immediate aftermath of Dany's assassination.

Sure it is. Why would any other kingdom want to be governed by Bran if the North gets to remain free? Her brother granted her this privilege. They should be complaining or wanting their own independence.

sweet. like wtf Bran, really? doens't care for anything, but showed up for the throne. fricking what!

It was pretty obvious that was his plan all along

Dany = Vader
Bran = The Emperor

Bran was cheating at chess while everyone else was playing connect 4

He and his “bro” saved them all. Sansa made a demand, and it was granted. They were free to do the same, and if denied, would be in open rebellion against people who are trying to squash all the beef

There seems to be a lot of discussion about Jon being banished to the north.

I think that the way they executed this was pretty poor and didn't make a lot of sense, but in my mind Jon was always meant to be back living with the wildlings. Throughout the entirety of the show, it seemed that he was "at home" north of the wall, and so I'm perfectly fine with him being back with the wildlings and his direwolf. But yeah, the way they actually got to that point was pretty dumb.

The way I interpreted the decision (and what helps me be at peace with Jon's ultimate fate), is that I am just going to be naive and assume that the other characters knew that there was no more Night's Watch and no need for them but that they all winked at each other when making this proposal to GW to get him and the Dothraki to shut the frick up and move on.

I don’t think so. I think it was the confirmation of a threat that GW already feared.

Also, GW follows orders. There was no one to give the order to kill Jon and Tyrion

no no, you missed my point. The point that I responded to was that Sansa went south and made a decision on the fly without consent from the rest of the north. I wasn't talking about the rest of the kingdoms being ok with the north going solo.

I thought that was obvious.

Jon immediately going past the wall when he arrived confirmed it.

Drogon should have eaten Jon imo.

The queen gave him explicit orders that all of her enemies had to be killed. That’s why he was executing Lannister soldiers in the street.

I’d think the two men who killed her would be considered enemies.

I think it made sense. Greyworm agreed to leave as long as Jon is sent to the wall. This avoids anymore war and sets up Bran to become king

I have some major complaints about this season, but I'll admit I became teary eyed watching Brienne pen Jaime's last entry.

We shouldn't have to assume or generate theories to explain away why something so important occurred and went over without a hitch. Dorne and the Iron Islands have always been fiercely independent. Why didn't they, too, declare their independence if the North could get away with it?

You sound like one of those idiots who complained that we never saw Jack Bauer eat, piss, or shite during a 24 hour day.

They spent the last several seasons beating you over the head with the North not wanting to be under the rule of whoever was sitting on the iron throne. why would you need to see yet another meeting of those folks yelling "queen of da norf"?

and my comment was unrelated to the other regions wanting or not wanting to be independent. that's not important in this particular discussion where someone bitched about Sansa deciding on her own that the North would be independent.

Well Greyworm is a loyal follower but he isn't an idiot. He knows killing Jon and Tyrion would mean war. Also she said to kill anyone who follows Cersei. Neither Jon nor Tyrion were following Cersei

We can justifiably complain about HOW the characters got to their endings and the clunkiness of the writing therein.

But the ending, itself, was pretty good imo.

She’s dead. She doesn’t have enemies anymore

But the main reason is that GW knew they would have to fight the north if they killed Jon. He was looking for a way to do it without having to fight the north
