HBO’s ‘Harry Potter’ Series Opens Casting Call for Harry, Ron and Hermione

HBO has opened a casting call for the three stars of its upcoming “Harry Potter” TV series. Fans spotted the casting call circulating online Monday, and HBO confirmed its authenticity to Variety.
The casting call is looking for children who will be between the ages of 9-11 in April 2025 and who are residents of the U.K. and Ireland. The notice also says that casting will be inclusive to all races, ethnicities and gender identities.
“We are committed to inclusive, diverse casting,” it reads. “For every role, please submit qualified performers, without regard to ethnicity, sex, disability, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other basis protected by law unless otherwise specifically indicated.”

How are they going to do this? Drag this out over 8-10yrs so they are right age for each “book”?

I have read that JK Rowling has very strict creative control over Harry Potter projects. She does not seem like one to relent, especially as she's gotten older and richer and had to deal with so much more shite.

Well, we know Rowling still has creative control over this so trannies are out. Everything else is probably fair game from her past comments.

This isn't that hard to do with modern day filming a season a year. They tried to do it in the movies as best they could too. The good thing in almost every book, JK writes about how much taller Ron and often Harry grew in the summer. So it's not unreasonable to see significant growth if it extends some.
