Superman is a hard role to play. I hate to say it, but you almost have to play it boring if that makes sense. I think Cavill did a good job and I liked Man of Steel. A little long, but a good origin story. BvS wasn’t the actors fault. They just needed better stories and plots and lines and planning, etc.

Look at you man.

You're going nana over some internet poster doing something when you're not pissed and outraged that DC completely wasted Henry Cavill and completely fricked up their cinematic universe.

What's next? You take some dog shite and tell us it's chocolate pecan truffle?

They've left billions on the table.

Batman v Superman with the two most famous comic book characters ever should've made close to 2 billion. It didn't even get past 900 million. Just barely made its budget back and that's because word of mouth made it known that it's a shitty movie.

It should've been a Summer tentpole type movie that busted the block. All they had to do was do a World's Finest type movie and they would've brought in a billion.

Oddly enough, I still think the core story of BvS is the fresh way to approach Superman. How would would the world respond to Superman? Snyder & WB just screwed it up. The great thing about the Nolan Batman movies were the premise was how would a city react to a man dressed up as a Bat who cleaned up crime and what would the natural ramifications of that be? That's the approach for Superman too. How would the world react to a literal savior who could save the day and solve so many problems? Would we hate him for not being at all places at all times or would we use him a crutch? A lot more potential in those storylines there and you could have Luther be the ultimate humanist who thinks Superman makes humanity weaker.

Hopefully they get out of this cycle where they overreact and use the next Superman movie to fix the problems of the previous one.

It sounds like DC is restarting the universe or disregarding one completely. Which is a good idea IMO. Cavill's version of Superman, while looked the part, was very poorly conceived for that character. So they have to move on from that. As good as Cavill looked in the role, it's time to move on. With all the mistakes that have been made on WB's part, this is a step in the right direction, Especially if Cavill wanted out as well and/or they're disregarding MoS, BvS, and JL.

That's because the studio has shifted its focus to a Supergirl movie, which will be an origin story featuring a teen superheroine.

In four years they'll have Wonder Woman 2 and 3 and (hopefully) Aquaman 2 and Shazam 2 done or close to done. They'll have their Elseworlds Joker movie and Birds of Prey movies done and gone.

They could have a new Superman in the works and, by then, they'll have a better idea if they should build on Wonder Woman and Aquaman with a shared universe Superman or have him go it alone.

Yea, I just think they have to move on from the Snyder universe, and Cavill's face is all over that. It would be hard to restart that character with Cavill, as good as he looked in the role. It's time to move on from that stain on DC.

That makes no damn sense. Kal-El is grown up when Kara shows up because she's in suspended animation. That's how it is in the CW show, the Injustice 2 game, and during at least ONE of the reboots of the comics (I can never keep track of the origins these days).

LOL at you. How many movies have DC and WB announced over the last 3-4 years?? How many do you actually believe will get made?

Batman has always been a go to money maker for WB. They will never give up on that property. Women superheroes seem to be hot right now, so I can definitely see a Supergirl movie possibility as well. I think a lot will depend on Wonder Woman 84's success for that and a WW 3. Beyond that, it will depend on the success of Shazam 1 and Aquaman 1, so we'll see.

"While no decisions have been made regarding any upcoming Superman films, we’ve always had great respect for and a great relationship with Henry Cavill, and that remains unchanged," reads WB's statement.
That's not really a denial. This kinda sounds like Cavill might be asking for more money or something.

And the SJW actor suggestions came flowing in.

Something tells me this casting will be a bigger shite fight than Star Wars.

Cavill just instagrammed a video of himself in a Krypton t shirt holding a Superman action figure, captioned. “Today was exciting”
