James Bond producers reflect on legacy and future of 007

But the spotlight on them has intensified as the world awaits official word on Bond No. 8. People are always playing the guessing game with the role, whether it was the long-running fan campaign for Idris Elba or any number of promising young actors who pop on the scene. The latest, stickiest rumor is Aaron Taylor-Johnson, but Broccoli and Wilson are staying tight-lipped on even a general timeline for when an announcement might come.
“It’s a big decision,” she said.
They’ve teased some things: It will be a man. He’ll likely be in his 30s. Whiteness is not a given. And whoever says yes is doing so with the expectation of at least a decade’s worth of films. One thing is certain: There’s going to be a period of adjustment for audiences in the transition. Every Bond had its detractors, especially at the start. Broccoli saw firsthand the vitriol of the internet era when Craig was cast (“anti-Daniel nonsense,” she called it.)
quote:
“Every time we cast a new actor, the films change. It’s the excitement of a new Bond, a new direction,” Wilson said. “Every one of these people who took on the role offered something new and different.”
Plus, they’re playing the long game with Bond, producing and cinema in general. And not losing sight of the Cubby spirit.
“He always said films were like the circus coming to town,” Broccoli said. “You set up your tent, everybody comes and you create magic. It’s all about pleasing the audience, making sure that people get their bang for their buck.”

Bond is dead.
Even if they do cast a white male, he'll play second fiddle to whoever the female costar is.
There also won't be any frick scenes and Bond will become some submissive, beta male feminist who allows women to show him the 50 states... and then Barbara will sit and ponder what made the next 007 film become a box office shitshow. She'll blame everything but the root cause.

The cucks who say "not true" are the same people who argue "there are no white Africans".

Wasn't there a rumor going around that it was gonna be Aaron Taylor-Johnson?

Not that long ago no one seemed terribly upset at the idea of Idris Elba taking the role; only issue I see now is that I legit can’t think of any British actors suited for the role. I think Elba too far up there in years to do Bond for a long stretch.

And if they really want him to be a Bond, just say he's the illegitimate son of James. That would be fully on brand and they would be able to create dozens of those characters.

Not really a big commitment since they’ve shite out only two movies in the last 10 years and both of them were bad
No Time To Die came out 3 years ago (even though it was completed in 2019). It shouldn’t take this long to figure out the direction of Bond.

Even using this language says it all. Seeing the world through the lens that naturalizes this language is pure racial resentment

They're waiting for the woke shite to die down. He's gonna be more Roger Moore. Sam Mendes and Craig got to do their vision or version and now that is over.

He's too old now, and he does not fit the James Bond description, but some studio should definatly make a Bond-esque spy action thriller with Elba as the lead. He's too perfect for that type of role not to at least see it once.

True enough. The true statement would be "Either whiteness, or box office failure, is a given."

I think it would be a great move to have the franchise visit a Bond origin story line. Start the first movie exploring James' early life after the death of his parents and how he became who he is. Follow him through tough upbringing and University as well as his SAS service. Do this with two separate actors, one 12, 13 the other 19-20. Then you have a legitimate franchise actor to age with the story of becoming 007.
