Yes, but they definitely implied with the lack of online records and the boxes of stuff that MTex operates outside the normal lines. As a CPA, I get it, but I think showing the records insinuates that Monte didn't operate like normal companies do. Their HR dept was probably just getting people hired and processing payroll.

LOL, Mtex was just Monty’s shell game. He made all his money pushing piles of paper from one desk to the next.

The cops luring Cooper into the conversation saying "they just want to go over what happened" then basically questioning him without even giving him the option of a lawyer is bullshite. "Only guilty people call lawyers? How about people who are unjustly tricked into an interrogation?

seeing that girl get raped and the cops attitude about it probably enraged her.
Should have enraged her. Feminist part doesn't matter at all. It should enrage everyone. a-hole cop and a-hole rapist had it coming.

Nate said it best: MTex was never designed to outlast Monte; it was designed to be SOLD.

With what the lawyer said to her when he resigned I'm wondering if she doesn't wind up selling it to the cartel guy. Just a guess of course
Got a sense that Monty was already in bed with the cartel the whole time and that's why the business was structured the way it was with layers of asset protection ("set up to be sold"). Old lawyer probably knows the deal.

I hope I was not the only one completely distracted (not necessarily in a good way) by the well-endowed cheerleader with the completely inadequate sports bra who was happily bouncing down the track with the biggest goofy smile on her face during the cheer practice scene.

Am I the only one who thinks the daughter is going to end up falling in love with the ferret-girl roommate?
I just know it’s coming for the shock value.

Nope. I can see it happen for sure and Tommy will be Ok with it to make his character seem more complicated. "Well if it makes you happy honey" followed by some ridiculous analogy.

For all of his faults, I don’t see Sheridan taking the Ranch/Netflix route.

Also, that "rig" they had in tow was a joke.
Agreed. I kept thinking it looked like a half sunken derelict but I don’t know shite about offshore drilling. Maybe they are supposed to listing 30 degrees to the rear like that.

If they were drilling that far out it would either be a Semi-Submersible Rig, like this:
Or a Drill Ship, like this:
I've spent some time on both types. I will be dodging polar bears next week in the Arctic.

This one is the Sevan Louisiana. I was on it for about 10 minutes while they were refueling the chopper.

Yea that bucket of bolts they were towing down the canal in Landman didn’t look anything like any of those pictures.

Someone replied that it was an inland barge rig. I haven't ever been on one. My brothers and one of my friends have been on them before down in the swamps.
That damn thing wasn't going out into open water for a drilling operation they were describing to 30,000' below the surface of the water. It doesn't have enough room for everything you would need. On top of that, I know it doesn't have enough capacity for all of the mud/drilling fluid you would need for an operation like that to be safe.
Those barges are probably good for around 7,000' to 15,000' Total Depth with other barges off to the sides holding extra mud tanks, pipe and a smaller blowout preventer (what they use on land).
Taylor Sheridan should have done a bit more research before putting that into the script.
