I always thought it was funny that when in similar situations, Bear would tell the viewer to do one thing, and Les would tell the viewer to never do that and vice versa.

I take the one that would win in a fight. The one that climbed Everest a year after breaking his back in a parachuting accident while in the British special forces. Also the one odd enough to name two of his sons Huckleberry and Marmaduke.

The point was to show you how to survive which he did. if he were teaching you about how not to get burnt by a stove would you complain that he didnt burn himself just to show you the consequence? Bears a better survivalist.

I remember that Bear did an episode in Alabama once. They never really got further than a 15 minute hike from the nearest major road.

The two shows are too different to just be an either or. Bear does stunts and ingests disgusting crap for entertainment. Les spends a week in the wild and films it. I like the set up of Survivorman better but Les is annoying as hell. Every time he pulls out that damn harmonica I hope a bear shows up and Revenant rapes him

I find Les to be unwatchably boring. Both of those guys have awesome skills though.
