Also the book a knock-you-on-your-arse ending, which they refused to use in the movie

Yea, that sucked they didnt do the ending in the book.

Mason was waaaay grosser in the book. They did a terrible job in the movie.

I think the Lord of the Rings movies were the most anticipated since they were written so long ago.

I am not sure there has ever been more anticipation over a longer period of time.

You can argue about whether they delivered or not, but pure anticipation was so freakin high I don't think any movie could have lived up to anticipation.

When I was a kid, I really wanted to see the first Ninja Turtles movie, as well as Home Alone. I was about six years old at the time, but I don't think I've ever wanted to see a movie as badly as those two.

More recently, I was very excited to see There Will Be Blood and No Country for Old Men. All of my friends strongly recommended both of these movies, and they were also rated very highly on Metacritic. Maybe I was expecting too much because I was disappointed by both of them. They were both good films certainly, but I might not even put them in my top 10 for last year, and definitely not in my top 5.

Of the movies I haven't seen yet, I am really interested in seeing The Wrestler.

The Big Hit with Mark Wahlberg... I thought it was going to be badass with the Wyclef Jean staying alive music in the previews....it ended up sucking major arse.

I can vaguely remember seeing Return of the Jedi in the cinema and then nagging my Mom about when is it going to come out on TV. Back then there was like a 3 - 4 year wait before New movies made it to TV... I was in AGONY!

More recently, it would have to be the Lord of the Rings Series and the two latest Batman's.

Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace

This is the winner if you are my age. I was like 7 or so when the first Star Wars came out. And saw them all in the theater. Then had that anticipation before Empire came out. Then again before Return of the Jedi. So waiting for Phantom Menace was excrutiating.

I remeber seeing the traler for Godzilla when we went to see The Lost World. They showed a scene where they were in a museum and the guide was saying T-Rex was the largest animal to walk the earth. Just then a big arse Godzilla foot crashes thru the ceiling and smashes the t-rex skeleton.

I thought " wow, just think what they could do with Godzilla with current digital effects" then Godzilla turns out to be nothing more than a t-rex.......sorely disappointed.

My problem with The Lost World was, I had read the book before going to the movie. I wrongly assumed the movie would follow the book. Which it didn't but i guess none of them do.
