Batman 89 was the first movie I ever saw in my life and I was 6
Was among two of the first movies I ever owned as I was gifted a VHS tape from my parents at Christmas 1989 at 11 yrs old, along with The Last Crusade. Still have the VHS tapes.

DC characters exist in an infinite omniverse. We have only seen a few versions of these characters in any media format, but if someone can imagine it, it exists.
I don't want to derail the thread because the trailer was fun, but this is the laziest excuse there is to justify them doing anything in any comic book movie.
"infinite universes exist so it's canon! Wolverine could totally have 3 tits!"
It's not a Kara that exists. They changed Kara for "reasons". It's not shocking. It's also not from the comics.

Fantastic trailer. Highly likely this movie ends up sucking though

Don’t talk continuity with the DC fan boys. Especially Fewer. They need a universe reset every few movies to get rid of all the previous garbage and be hopeful for the new movies that will become garbage

Why would you expect to see the pre-crisis Earth 1 Supergirl in a movie exploring the multiverse and different timelines within?

Silly me expecting Kara to look like Kara and not a completely different Supergirl not named Kara.
You literally asked why I would expect Kara to look like Kara as she's been depicted in multitudes of media over the years. Think about that.

Didn’t we get “pre-crisis” Cavill and Batfleck?
You’re using the multiverse as cover for diversity casting. I like her and her character looks really interesting, but she is not Kara

Right. So I would expect the blonde Kara Zor El in that universe. The Supergirl shown in the trailer appears to be native to the same universe as Keaton Batman.

quote:Cavill was definitely not "pre-crisis". That Krypton stuff with the birthing matrixes was all post-crisis Byrne.quote:Right. So I would expect the blonde Kara Zor El in that universe. The Supergirl shown in the trailer appears to be native to the same universe as Keaton Batman.

She’s from one of the empty pods in Man of Steel, it’s shown in the ship/fortress of solitude scene. Her suit is also made of the same material as Cavill’s
That’s why she yells at Zod saying “what did you do?!” and looks like she might be carrying Cavill into the atmosphere in one shot.

I’m admittedly not familiar with Crisis so I thought he meant the time travel events in this movie

Yep. A Latina Supergirl with a Captain Marvel butch haircut. I know where this is going.
