yea the whole beginning of the final was odd. i think the first 2 hours were them just driving. then a couple more hours on a no-stakes bike race followed by camping for the night.
totally dumb strategy bananas devin truce. aneesa is (fake) injured but regardless is already too much of an anchor. olivia had already busted her finger up early day 1. guessing the truce will be over next episode putting whoever betrays first at enough of a lead they coast to the win.

Oh my god I have never seen anything like that. First poor girl gets her finger sliced then takes a reverse sling shot to the face. Damn Horacio is definitely the best guy that has been on a challenge in long time , really sucks for him,

I read an article that Olivia was in the hospital for a couple of days after the final and came back to film her last confessional with a brace on her nose. But she said she wants to come back for another challenge season.

Who are y’all rooting for? Unpopular opinion but I think Nany has worked hard this season and I’m rooting for her and Bananas.

I wanted Olivia and Horacio to win.
Jordan deserves it, but he is saddled with Aneesa. As a result, I’m going for Devin and Tori.

Eh, Horatio/Jordan/Johnny are going to be fine after that bike ride. I agree that the challenge itself and setup was pointless

Devin and Tori, and it really isn't even close. At the start it was still Devin and Tori but Horacio and Tits McGee were a close second.

I will never root for Nany.

Random thought watching that scene:
I was actually surprised that all 4 guys knew how to drive a stick.

Finally watching last week’s episode (been out of town).
Definitely coming down to a “winning” partner within the teams choosing to frick the partner over. Not sure what else TJ means by putting the ride of die-ness to the test.
This bike/camp intro is stupid. It’s basically an extended warmup since it’s not a race and there is basically zero at stake.
Of fricking course Aneesa rolls her ankle five seconds into this run because she can’t traverse some grass and dirt.
Olivia is kinda beasting even with the finger injury. I’m glad they didn’t force her to quit.
Devin and Tori not knocking their tires over may hurt them.
Devin is on point with that slingshot challenge. Damn. I wonder if they actually did that shite in two shots.
I don’t want Nany to win at all, but it would be so incredibly awesome if John and Nany won and somehow John took the money and ran after all the shite this season about wanting to win for her and blah blah.
The slingshot challenge doesn’t seem like it should be that difficult.
TJ just gets to roll around on a fricking four wheeler all damn day.
Aneesa getting mad at Jordan for wanting her to not walk at a fricking snail’s pace is ridiculous. He would have absolutely slayed everyone if he and Nia had remained teammates and made the final.
There’s no way Olivia is gonna be able to continue with her hand like this. They’re gonna not be able to medically clear her.
HOLY shite, nevermind. There’s no way she’s gonna be cleared to continue with this face injury. Jesus. I want to laugh but I also kinda just feel bad.
Man I legit feel so bad for Horacio. He’s such a good dude. It’s not like Fessy losing a partner where it’s hilarious. And Olivia is hot and a tomboy
Who’s good at athletic shite. Quite the catch, Nelson. She and Horacio are great additions to the Challenge.

frick that. Nany sucks and I hate her. So I’ll never pull for her.
I’m pulling for Jordan, but he’s anchored with one of the worst challengers ever (even if she was 100% healthy). So he’s out.
Horacio and Olivia were my next choice but that’s done.
Devin is still annoying as frick (although he has grown on me) and I sort of can’t stand Tori now, but by default I guess I want them to win.

That golfball to the face was tough to watch! Damn. Sometimes I wish the producers would change the game a bit in those instances and let Horacio at least try and compete and do double work. It would be fun to watch him make the attempt.
He is an incredibly good guy, but I thought that was what was kind of killing this season. Even Johnny was toned down to being a nice guy.
Older challenges were great because everyone was willing to screw eachother in the back. I feel like Nelson and Cory have started this “good guy code” where you can’t go back on your word, but that doesn’t make for good TV.

I don’t disagree with you but I think there’s also something to this version as well. And you’ll always have people willing to do what it takes for lots of money. I assume at some point John and Nany will frick over Devin and Tori during this final. Going back on your word in the last moments of the season isn’t as bad of a feeling when it means TLJ win a million bucks, I’d imagine.
But I do agree that older seasons were more entertaining in the drama department. But even still, some of the best cast members were “honorable” people (like Elton, Landon, etc.).

Horacio has to be one of the nicest and classiest people to ever do a Challenge.
He's up there with Mark Long and Landon.

Just a waste of time so they could make the final last 100 hours.

The recent seasons have had similar atmospheres to the earlier seasons pre-original Duel imo.
It got much worse in terms of the behavior of cast members due to CT’s psycho stage (which was pretty much an isolated case, as no one else behaved that way except on occasion, Abram) and the general cultural shift starting in the Island.
That started to become less prevalent from Free Agents onwards but really came down after some issues they had with the UK cast (especially Stephen Bear).
John certainly knows how to read changing tides and has understood that calling most of the female contestants stupid sluts and laughing at them in confessionals will not endear him on social media. There’s also the whole general aging/maturing thing.
Turbo’s behavior came off as very strange in the first couple of episodes this year though, even though it wasn’t more egregious than what CT used to do.

I had completely forgotten that Turbo was even on this season.
