In June 2009, a 10-year-old girl from Huntington Beach, California was suffering from the final stages of terminal vascular cancer. It is reported her dying wish was to "live to see the movie" despite the advanced stage of her disease. However, due to her deteriorating condition, the girl was unable to leave the family home. As a result, a family friend contacted Pixar and arranged for a private screening. A Pixar employee flew to the Huntington Beach home with various Up tie-in toys and a DVD copy of the film. The child could not open her eyes due to the pain caused from the cancer, so her mother described the film to her scene by scene. The young girl died approximately seven hours after the screening ended.

Well that is something calculated to promote cheerful thoughts.

Wall E
The Incredibles
Finding Nemo
Ratatouille
Toy Story
Toy Story 2
A Bug's Life
Cars
Monster's, Inc.

I'm not big into animated movies, I just appreciate each movie for what it is no matter what the genre, but Wall E was an extremely well made movie. The first half hour or so was absolutely brilliantly done. Ratatouille gets underrated a lot, and had a great script. Monsters, Inc. was very corny, and even though one could say that's because it's a kids movie, it's obvious Pixar gears their films to people of all ages, and the cheesiness and bad writing was a turnoff. Cars sucked, but I think I'm a little harder on it than I should be.

A lot of people hate Wall-E because of the supposed "liberal bias" it presents (not saying any of you are, but that's a pretty common theme in discussions of the movie). I think it's a shame that such a great animated film is looked down upon by some just because it has an environmental spin on it. Weak.

Wall-E is the one animated film (other than Waltz With Bashir, which is a different kettle of fish) that truly transcends the medium and is simply pure art. The first hour of the movie is among the most beautiful hours of film. I absolutely love the movie.

are you joking?

the walmart corporation running the government..and when the 'president' is standing there you can clearly see "B U S H" behind him.

LMAO that the bias is 'supposed'. I'm sure they didn't realize that "BUSH" was in the background when they filmed it and then afterward it was too expensive to reshoot that scene.

how many animated movies have you seen?

akira?
metropolis?
nausicaa?
grave of the fireflies?

seriously..the robot couldn't have been more ripped-off from Short Circuit if they tried. Pixar makes great 'junk food' movies but they're hardly original. The Miyazaki force is strong with the Lassiter-one.

I've seen a lot of animated film (and three of the four you've mentioned). Wall-E is far superior. I would say its on a level with Waltz With Bashir.

It's a love poem. To comment briefly on the politics... since when is it a conservative value to pollute? Are you trying to say conservatives can't care about the environment? And I've never noticed the "BUSH"... I think you're reaching and just want to see it.

I wouldn't go far as to say Wall-E was "crap" - but I've seen it a few times now, as it's on heavy rotation on Starz, and it was just OK at best. I think it was a little "preachy" but not offensive.

The animation was very good, but as technology improves, I expect it.

but as a story......meh. There wasn't much there. A robot love story? it's not exactly an original concept there. a boy who lives in the ghetto falls for a princess, she rejects him at first then reciprocates? ........seen that too. Humans have the propensity to be fat and lazy but the human condition drives them to improve their lot in life.......

In the end, it wasnt that funny, and the storyline(s) were weak. That's why I rated it towards the bottom of my list

Me and my 5 year old love this movie. I think every time I watch it (were on our second copy) I pick out something neat that I never noticed before. My favorite is the pistons and valve covers as the shelters over the gas pumps at Flo's

what are you talking about?? production value?? well sure..walle had a budget to rival most 3rd world countries.

i need to know how the way movies such as metropolis set up the story..is so inferior to a little robot going around picking up trash.

you fail if you put walle up against this
