You mentioned "The Exorcist" and I saw that one in the theater when it first came out. Damn good movie, but an even better book that I read after I saw the movie.

I read the book first. When my now 32 yo son had to read a book and write a report in high school I recommended the Exorcist. I forgot how much foul stuff was in the book. I also felt he was of age enough that I sat him down to watch The Graduate. He liked the book and the movie.

Sorry but does anyone know why this POS is still free?

Cause he's in France. They don't give a shite about any kind of sex over there.

People don't realize how prevalent cults were in California at that time, Satanic and otherwise.

Celebrities like Mick Jagger, Sammy Davis Jr, and Jayne Mansfield were rubbing elbows with known Satanists like Kenneth Anger and Anton Levay.
Bobby Bousoleil was Anger's roommate and was going to play Lucipher in Anger's Lucipher Rising film(Jimmy Page worked on the soundtrack).

Manson used Scientology as part of his schtick. L Ron based a lot of Scientology on his time around known Occultist Jack Parsons.

Jack Parsons worked with Walt Disney as well as with Werner von Braun in establishing NASA (which *should* tell everyone what NASA is really all about, BUT DOESN'T)

In the book Going Clear, L Ron Jr says that the only parts of scientology that aren't bullshite are the stuff based in the occult. Also claims that Hubbard Sr was telekinetic.

Interesting.

Occult. Satanism and NASA ties.

AND...Daddy was "telekinetic" -- or rather as some would say, "tapped into Underworld assets" -- yes, as in "demonic".

That whole Babalon Working thing sounds absolutely bonkers. But when you see how much the world has changed since he was doing all of that, it's hard not to wonder if any of them worked.

Yup. It becomes easy to connect the dots and tie a big bow around the whole evil enchilada given all the weird occult associations and agenda.

AND...Tethered directly to von Braun, Disney...and of course, NASA (whose "space" programs -- much like Disney-LAND/ Disney-WORLD -- are nothing but totally an alchemy spells and illusion.)

NASA even has a "studio".

Another little known fact is that the girl that Rosemary meets in the laundry room and who has another small role later in the film was Victoria Vetri (aka Angela Dorian) who was the 1968 Playboy Playmate of the Year.

The photos are out there.

Never seen it. Where do you find the movie now? My 72YO sister saw it when she was young and it scared the hell out of them back then. I guess The Exorcist did the same for my generation.

Same generation. RB released in ‘68 and the Exorcist in ‘73. Great era for movies. Lots of independent filmmakers putting out originals back then. Easy Rider in 1969 became a cult classic and put Jack Nicholson on the map.

I find a lot of 70s horror to be so much better than today's incessant jump-scare fests.

The Exorcist, The Omen, Halloween, Rosemary's Baby, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, even Alien & Jaws...seemed more psychologically disturbing than heart-pounding scares.

There are quite a few known NY actors with uncredited face in crowd roles and Tony Curtis does a voice on phone in one scene. Great movie.

“Satanism” and “Satanist” are usually more like trigger words that a lot of maladaptive personality types use to get a rise out of people than actual ideologies or practices that are performed.

Used to have kids in high school who would proclaim themselves to be Satanists but were really just depressed weirdos who wanted to piss off normies. We would probably call them “edgelords” now. I sincerely doubt some of these people have the attention span to read any book, let alone a religious text.

I don’t think it’s available on any streaming service. For a while, the television remake with Zoe Saldana was available on YouTube. The original is slow burn horror as Rosemary slowly realizes that everyone around her is part of the cult. Ruth Gordon is a hoot as Minnie who, despite the fact that she’s one of the baddies, is my favorite character in the film.

Mia Farrow was a stone cold fox back then. Checked all my boxes. I didn't bless this earth until the late-70's though.

I've never seen Rosemary's Baby and I'm watching it in segments.
