Henry Cavill is slightly too old for the part. They are wanting a younger Bond who can go the distance with a multi-film commitment. Turner is 35, Cavill is 42.
Also it has been tradition for the producers of Bond to select an out-of-left-field actor for the role. Sean Connery was unknown, George Lazenby was a used car salesman turned model, Timothy Dalton was not the first choice of producers or fans, and Daniel Craig seemingly came out of nowhere. Only Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan were "obvious" choices to fans and producers alike.

Yea I'm fine with no Henry Cavill, I'd rather a relative unknown hire. Cavill is in enough stuff. The crime is that Cavill didn't get to be in anymore The Man From UNCLE movies. It was better than the majority of the Bond films. Would have loved a sequel for it.
