712 million views? How are they calculating this? That’s a huge number
People who mindlessly scroll thru Facebook Reels, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, TikTok, etc., and get a 30 second clip from a recent SNL episode...
Thats a view.
They know that's where their money comes from, and someone there is smart enough to add hooks to get people to stop scrolling. Best recent example i can think of was the Bass Guitar skit with Jack Black where Heidi Gardner comes out in fake tits for seemingly no reason. (And there may have been a reason, but because I'm watching clips and not full episode, I just stopped to see the cleavage)

Morgan Wallen in a few other musical acts are probably a big reason for this.

SNL is not going away but the big rumor is Lorne will be turning it over to someone else
There will be a woke nuke dropped on SNL after that.

I hate all the political hate. It’s super liberal but it’s still funny IMO
I will admit Trump is an easy target and doesn’t help himself

YouTube has a lot of clips that excel…

For all the hate that SNL gets, it is pretty commonly known that Lorne holds more of the woke crap back. He leashes his more liberal writers pretty well. As others have said, I can’t imagine the show will survive long without him.

Not to get political, but it's way funnier when Trump is in office. They pull punches against democrat presidents.
And you don't have an issue with that? I remember SNL used to go hard on Clinton, but not the Democrat politicians get a free pass on there.

This Lorne book is incredible. Talks about a few years back in 2016 during debate season, Leslie Jones and Cecily Strong refused to do a debate sketch where they had to play liberal women and make fun of them. They said they won’t do anything to promote the mad man getting in office
Lorne told him they don’t bring personal views on the show and they either do it or they’re out. He said regardless of candidate or political figure, you can make fun of them all you want, but you always have to make them likeable

By making fun of his sex scandal? Every show was doing that, and SNL still gave Clinton some grace. He wasn't portrayed as someone that uses his power to take advantage of and sexually abuse women. And that was indeed some of what he has been accused of. And I'm not bitter about it either. I loved Hammond's impersonation of Clinton.

Get the stick out of your arse, baw. I doubt Bill, Hillary, or any democrat liked the scandal being talked about AT ALL. What's your point? SNL had to cover the Lewinsky scandal in the show. It would have been weird to ignore it. But it's not like they, like I said, portrayed Clinton as some rapist, which they could have done. Would it have been funny? Probably not, but that didn't seem to matter with how Baldwin portrayed Trump. Instead, they portrayed Clinton as a likeable womanizer. It was funny. Much like how James Austin Johnson portrays Trump today. There is less vindictiveness in the writing and his portrayal, and overall it comes off as funny.

They succeeded in gathering their new audience. They knew they were gonna be lean for a few years until their new crop of audience would grow and tune in.
