This. Rome season 1 is awesome fun. Season 2?

Unless you want to watch tony sopranos with his family eating pasta and the same salad every episode, I'd recommend rome.

Toss up between Boardwalk and the Sopranos
I'd probably go boardwalk.

Watch Rome for st. It was only 2 seasons long. Then hit sopranos. You will appreciate it once you get into it. Happy watching the next few months or so.

Never watched Rome.
Other two are superb.
6 feet under is also a very underrated HBO series.

Seen all three, enjoyed all three, personally liked Boardwalk the most, but Rome is very good and received positive reviews.
Speaking of which, why did Rome end?

Rome.
Drink lots of red wine while you watch too.

why did Rome end?
Ratings weren't good enough to offset the expense.
Season 2 is really what they planned for season 2 and 3. Crammed it all in and it felt rushed.

Boardwalk is fantastic, maybe my favorite ever. The Sopranos is cool but as someone else said it's hard to binge on, and the italian stereotypes are a little much IMO.

Rome should not have ended with two seasons, should have gone on for the rest of the 500 years of Empire, too much awesome history. Wish there was more.
I loved the Sopranos early episodes/seasons and it started off awesome, perhaps as good as any show in history, but then became redundant toward the end and then couldn't find a way to end. Wish there wasn't so much
I've only watched the first season of Boardwalk, and I like it but am not as wowed as Rome or Sopranos. Some episodes are really good and others seem a little like they are trying to hard.
