That's my point. Everyone is talking about how this episode was an F U to Paramount. It would have been even more so if they made an episode that Paramount has taken down in the past. They went for the low hanging fruit, but that's not what y'all want to hear. It's ok.

I’m sure your own personal political leanings create no biases for you here as well.

I mean, they did it in a week after the Colbert stuff. I thought it was pretty dang impressive and funny. I don’t think anyone necessarily wants or expects a whole season like that. But it was a funny one off episode.

Maybe that's fair. Not all jokes are made for everyone. I've just been seeing a lot of comments about how brave Trey and Matt are for making that episode. Making fun of Christianity and Trump is as establishment as it gets. I laughed at some of the episode. Trump's talking penis was pretty good.

If the last time Trump was president was any indication, prepare to be disappointed.

Was it really a one off though? I thought it was decently funny and definitely a little crazy, but replace Saddam Trump with Garrison and I feel like I've seen this episode before

They've buried Islam plenty of times.

I think for some, it's just fatigue. They basically already did this for like 2-3 seasons. Still some very funny parts in the episode for sure, the PSA was absolutely bonkers. At some point though, we are just making the exact same jokes again.

You think that the 60 Minutes lawsuit was about them calling him a rapist?

How am I being a crybaby? Anything short of saying it was the funniest/ballsiest episode of tv ever is crying about it? They went after easy targets and the same ones they always go at. 0 mention of dementia Biden and his crackhead son for 4 years and first episode, Trump has a small penis again. It's tired.

i got a kick out of their statement after signing the contract

No, that was election interference.

I was just using the more extreme example of the Trump-related lawsuits. But yeah, Trump just sues people for nothing.

Six months ago, if you're referring to the comedy establishment. But seeing how CBS/Paramount have since caved in over the 60 Minutes "edit", cancelled Colbert, and are now promising to expunge DEI (with Trump taking credit for cancelling a show and threatening that others will follow), Matt and Trey are now operating in a different world.

It's not unheard of or unexpected bravery on their part, because bucking the status quo is their default setting. But hitting Trump hard right now is much different for them than when they did it a couple of years ago.

Because it was clear election interference.

cancelled Colbert,
There are cat videos on YouTube that get way more views than Colbert has viewers. There is no way to justify the massive production cost, but yeah, it was Trump who forced them to do it.

That’s not what the lawsuit was about dipshit.

Trump sued CBS and 60 Minutes for editing Kamala’s interview to make it look better, alleging that they unfairly helped Kamala in the bid for the presidency (that he ended up winning anyway). The whole suit lacked any real legal merit but Trump knew it gave him credible leverage to get a payout in exchange for letting the Skydance merger go through and severely damaging the reputation of CBS News in the process.

And yeah, not a single episode on Joe or Hunter, two absolute comedy gold mines, and the only Obama appearances had him as a slick jewel thief in that gay episode.

Because Joe is legitimately boring as frick. His whole legacy as a President is emblematic of the octogenarian career politicians who refuse to let go of power. He had 4 years to stem the tide of bullshite we’re now swept up in and he and his party all but sat on their hands. There’s nothing interesting there to lampoon. He didn’t DO anything and that’s the problem.

The only people who find Hunter remotely interesting are MAGA and the right wing. He’s a drug addled trust fund baby. That’s not all that noteworthy, they exist in droves.

You were actually crying about them not doing a show about Islam when they've already done a show about Islam. That's 10-ply level soft.

Just admit you got your feelings hurt.

They never did THIS. This was as overt a middle finger to Paramount and Trump as they’ve made toward anyone in years. The Garrison stuff was them lazily trying to just keep current without actually saying or doing anything that hadn’t already been said. This was a much more direct shot at his vanity and their parent company’s capitulation, knowing that he will see it and hoping for a response.

Have they done one in over a decade? Legit don't remember if they've really done one since the Muhammad episodes in season 14.
