what makes sense?
Is that really hard to understand? The show took three years to come out and they were still writing stuff while filming. You think that's a good thing? The biggest gripe was the obvious drop in quality in writing and them scrambling to finish it would make sense with the drop.

They landed the fricking finale
For you. In some ways for me too but the show was more than just the finale. And the imdb ratings that you were constantly pumping out post after post early on don't look so good now. The finale is the 3rd lowest rated episode of the entire series and the final season is the only season with three episodes rated i the 7's and clearly the lowest rated of all the seasons. Again, which would make sense if they weren't done writing while filming.

you would have complained with any ending.
Probably true, as the declining quality of the writing from S5 made it almost inevitable that the ending would be less than what it could have been. I have said that I enjoyed it for what it was. I can't help but respond tongue in cheek to someone who is so overly invested. It's fine you liked it man. You don't need to convince other people something was great for it to be great in your mind. Others are going to disagree. They are entitled to their opinions too. I'm imagining you typing a rage response with Katre Bush's "Running Up That Hill" blaring. I'd suggest having a slight sense of humor over the whole thing.
quote:
Tell us how you would have ended so we could make fun of you. I'm sure you won't because you're just here to complain.
I am not a professional writer being paid millions of dollars. This is about as weak a criticism as one can make. Just because I am unable to accomplish something doesn't mean I am unable to recognize when someone else does poorly in attempting to do so.
The whole "that's what I thought" schtick is a little over the top, my man. It was a couple of hours later on a night with an NFL playoff game. Didn't see this til this morning. Happy to let you have the last word on this, as I am not at all that invested. For me Stranger Things is over, and I'll probably not give it much thought from here on. Since you are a true die hard, send us out with a bang, big guy.

Holy shite, dude. I've defended you here and there but when did you become such an insufferable fricking cunt?
You have become one of the worst posters on this board in just a few short weeks. And that's tough to do with people like Kaiju running around.
You clearly can't cope with the fact that some people weren't happy with how Stranger Things ended. That's a you thing. If Chicken bans you again, don't ask me for help because I can't defend trying to help someone who is such a terrible poster now. RIP to back when you were a fairly rational, functional poster.

That’s the problem with the internet. So many people talking about and criticizing things they have absolutely no knowledge about.
We have to now hate and pick a part Breaking Bad and Vince G knowing that he didn't have the final script written in season 5 and didn't have the script and story written out for season 1 knowing he wanted to kill off Jessie in the first season.

Except that Breaking Bad had what is widely viewed as one the best final seasons in TV history. He was also writing at a much faster pace and wasn't taking 3 years in between seasons. Strangers Things final season is no where near Breaking Bad and what the Stranger Things writers messed up on has nothing to do Gilligan. He was able to do what they weren't, literally no reason to hate on him.

ST became tiresome well before the gay stuff dominated the show with the same formula that an ever expanding teenager group was smarter than the government and the aliens and literally every thing that popped into their heads from Metallica concerts in hell to playing Kate Bush non-stop for 3 years next to a comatose patient was exactly how things were.
Ridiculous. "Hey what if the space planet is a record sleeve with an album inside?"
fricking stupid. Every. Single. Idea.
Always the correct answer to the current problem.
"How did you know??! I didn't!"
They should have ended it after one season.

I just told you. This slapdick is complaining about
quote:
I've seen snippets posted out there... They didn't have the finale written when they went into start of production for the season? And they didn't even have the script finalized when they started shooting ep8? WTF
This is normal yet this whole thread seems to only pick a part this tv show. Breaking Bad and Vince G went through the same shite. Some of y'all just want to complain to complain. Both landed the finale so who gives a shite.
They already said they knew how they were going to end the show years ago with the kids playing D&D and eleven wouldn't be with the kids. It was a perfect ending

were talking about series finales. Both landed the series finales.

So now its the duffer brothers fault for the WGA and SAG strikes and covid ? HAHA
Season 1 July 2016
Season 2 October 2017 1 year and 3 months in between. Halloween theme so they waited 3 months till October.
Season 3 July 2019 Less than 2 years in between
quote:
He was able to do what they weren't, literally no reason to hate on him.
the WGA strike in 2007 literally saved Vince's arse because he was gonna kill off Jessie and Hank
Jesse was originally slated to die at the end of Season 1, but the strike's disruption prevented this, allowing Aaron Paul's Jesse a central character. Hank was also meant to die in Season 1, but the shortened production saved him
Wow its time to pick apart Breaking Bad now. Without the writers strike Breaking Bad would be nowhere celebrated as it is today.

You have the absolute hardest time following the simplest things it's absolutely pointless responding to you
Again, you keep talking just about the finale, everyone else is talking about the final season in general. Nobody is saying the writing dropped in just the finale, it was a dip in writing as a whole.

He's complaining about the duffer brother's finale. THE FINALE
He probably went on reddit and saw someone complaining and came here and posted it without even watching the documentary.

With all of the gay talk going on I was worried that it was going to taint () this season, but honestly the complaints felt overblown…compared to today’s agenda driven content. It felt like a gay storyline that would’ve been included in a series 20+ years ago.
I was prepared for something way worse. The way people were talking I was dreading Mike like being “sure I’ll be gay with you, why not, no big deal” or something.
I didn’t even realize there was a reveal. The actor for Will is so gay that his character was gay as hell the whole time. And then they essentially explicitly tell you the whole season. There was no reveal to the audience. Dude was just gay as hell.
I also love it when woke shows accidentally reveal based truths. Gay dudes molest kids and the trauma creates more. Henry was gay as hell (I was shocked to learn he wasn’t in real life cause that character was a creepy fruitcake) and basically molested Will in a darkmagic sense.

The making of the show documentary was put out today on netflix
Watched the doc last night. I hope that the success of the series in general sends a message to the industry to focus on practical effects. The depth/breadth of the Pain Tree interior to the Mind Flayer was amazingly done when you think that they did the whole damned thing out of styrofoam blocks the size of VW Beetles.

WTF??? I mean, it went on for like 15m.
Hell, even SNL made fun of it with their joke "Will's coming out scene is still going on"

Wasn't a reveal to anyone with common sense, it was the story line of him revealing his gayness to everyone there so he could get his super powers bc Vecna told him he couldn't being in the closet.

this is how lies get spread on the internet and run like wild fire.
The woke homo scene was exactly 5 minutes and some seconds. You just fricking lied and added on 10 mintues

Even SNL made fun of it
well because it was a the dumbest scene in the show and the actor from ST was the guest host. SNL hasn't been funny in 20 years

There was a very real and poignant part of this ending that I feel everyone getting wrapped up in everything else seemed to miss. The rooftop scene with the four older characters was incredibly well done. They all had started living their own lives and hadn’t seen each other in awhile, reflected on it and then vowed to start something that none of them could actually live up to. Just like we’ve probably all done. We love our friends we’ve met but running into our lives we have to miss future meet ups. It’s a sad reality of life and I love that scene for that.
