Season 4 was incredible and season 5 is the weakest of them all. And to all of those folks saying it’s the highest rated season as if its some badge of honor
Being highly rated just means it appeals to a lot of people. So does reality TV. That doesn’t automatically make it good.

Max and holly having an hour long heart to heart was also ridiculous considering max has been trying to get back for two years or whatever.

I don’t fall into any of those demographics. Sorry but this season has primarily featured girls being girl bosses and doing girl boss shite.
What's the alternative? Boy boss shite? It's all make believe.

1,3,4 are elite
2 would be better without the 8 wasted episode
5 vol 1 was ok but the long break really killed them this time. Plus the writing has went off the rails

Season 2 was elite. It only had one bad episode which was the lost sister. So many hall of fame episodes that season.

My major gripes from last night manly revolves around the misuse of time, storytelling and character use.
We had 4 episodes left going into last night. The amount of time we spend on characters just talking and not advancing the plot in any capacity is a gross misuse of time. The bits with Holly are probably the more interesting parts of the show right now. Yet we get stuck with massive amount of them just talking about side matters that have no impact on the main story. You don’t have time to waste yet it seems liked we wasted up to an hour of screen time on everyone’s emotional state.
The whole reintroduction of El’s sister and that new storyline is a waste. We moved on from her and that whole program story. Now bringing her back could have been interesting but her plot point being we gotta stop the government from creating more kids with powers is a waste. No one has been thinking about that for a few seasons and now that is going to be a drive force in El’s decision making going forward.
These were similar issues I had with GOT and they are showing back up. Hopefully the final episode regains its focus but I’m less optimistic about it now.

Why? She’s eleven sister and has powers just like eleven. Why is she a waste just because you haven’t seen her since season 2? It’s a part of the main storyline.

Yea I hate this part so much. All of a sudden a dumb character that no one cares or even knows about comes back and is changing the entire motive/direction.
The “It’s better to kill yourself than live in hiding” is just another on the list of bad writing decisions that are piling up this season. “No you should not want to live in obscurity with the person you love because these people will find you because don’t you see how good they are at finding you you haven’t even left Hawkins and it took them forever to realize you’re still here just imagine how easy it will be to find you if you move to a different state or country you need to kill yourself!!!!”

It’s her effect on the story. She could be used in an interesting way but the motivation in how it relates to the bigger story is a waste. El even admits that she wasn’t looking for her. From a storytelling standpoint we were done with that character.

Those 3 episodes could have been a single episode.
I was really hoping Nancy and Jonathon died. They are the worst.
And Nancy becoming GI Jane in the last episode was the worst scene in the entire series.
I enjoyed the first part of this season, but these were mostly bad or unnecessary.
I’m glad we finally get the Will stuff out of the way because I actually like what they are doing with his story and his connection with Vecna.

love that she is just now mercing people left and right. Zero consequences for killing someone.
Also we are in the 80s. Two gay characters, and interracial couple? Chances of all theee happening to the same friend group in a small town 0.0%
Right on point.
It's still a good show but again woke gotta woke. It's to the point it's them again boo boo. I'm tired boss.

Will will probably bang Henry in the final episode at this rate. Only way to get him to submit.

The good is the overall plot.
Lost bc woke bs.
Upside down being a bridge. Worm hole to the abyss.
Max and Holly are the best actors.
The teacher and Marty and good characters

Are you too stupid to recognize the contradiction in your comments? The alternative is anything (-n) where n = over the top, overwhelmingly Mary Sue “girl boss” writing. The show started with the 4 young boys and El being the center of the story. It’s now a repetitive loop of Nancy being GI Jane for no reason, El showing up Hopper, Robin being wise, adding in more girls to be focal points and the mom’s having plot armor to be monster fighting badasses. Holly is now a primary character and Lucas’s little sister get screen time to be a little shite for “comedic value”. And none of it was written appropriately to lead to this repetitive loop making any sense. Nancy is the worst character on the show, Jon and Will aren’t too far behind her.
I’m a minority myself and this show has gotten even too woke for me. Admittedly I was going to power through it but that scene with Will coming out sucked any curiosity and anticipation for the ending right out of me.

I’m done with the show.
I’m convinced that shows like Stranger Things are a reflection of their own audiences (primarily Gen Z): vapid, shallow, superficial, low attention span, etc.
These people don’t want films and TV shows that are deep, metaphoric, and have superb character development with realistic acting. They want flashy, over-the-top shows and films that involve cringe acting with awful writing. They’re part of the reason why films and TV show today are absolute unwatchable dogshit.

How is this show woke? I’m not seeing it. It’s gotten stale, and a little lame, but I’m not sure about “woke”.

You must have cried when Veronica bested Ron Burgandy.
