It was car crash until it wasn't. He crushed it. That's why the "striking viking" wanted it to end. Living+ is a good sell. This will just raise the price of this company even more.
Yeah I do feel like the show bobbled it a bit here. It seemed like he pulled it together by the reaction and the stock prices when he came back but he still seemed really clunky in his delivery to me. I may have just missed something because it was late when I watched.

Yep. He is also going to be the one to screw Ken with the altered Logan audio. Thus, the replay of Logan announcing Rome's micro-peen in the car.
He regrets listening to Shiv and jumping ship on Ken (even though it made logical sense) and now he knows that he's the odd man out in the "co-CEO" world.

I LOL'd when everyone is bashing the editing job on Logan and Greg's like "I thought it was pretty well done."

The presentation was a definite win for Ken. They wanted you to think he would crumble and fall on his face like he always had. The neuroticism of him changing things last minute and going too big, the convo with Karl as he’s walking on stage, the teleprompter not working, the tweet ambush - all of that would have cooked him previously but he managed it all.
He even made up the line about his time being up, that was a quick thinking move that got him off stage.

I think you missed that whole sequence. He got up and left the presentation because he realized Kendall killed it and he should have been out there with him but he was too chicken to do it. Missed another opportunity to make a name for himself. Him listening to his dads audio was basically self-flagellation with his dad saying “you are a little wuss aren’t you”.

In case anyone, like me, needed the tweet explained...
quote:
The problem is not Kendall essentially promising, in a public forum, that the company would soon be able to offer eternal life (though it fits in well with Kendall in his extremely playing-God era right now), but Lukas Matsson – soon to be joint owner of the late Logan Roy’s dynasty – and his tweet responding to his lofty ambitions.
“Doderick Macht Frei,” it reads, extremely offensively, and if the words weren’t enough, Matsson has also found the time to mock up a picture of Doderick the dog, holding balloons, in front of Auschwitz.
“That’s a very nasty joke,” Roman says, and Shiv adds, “That’s what, a holocaust joke?”. Correct, and probably about one of the worst things anyone could say on social media.
The tweet is a play on words of the gates outside the World War II Nazi concentration camp of Auschwitz, which bore the lie “Arbeit macht frei”, or “Work will set you free”. According to Auschwitz’s official site, which explains the history of the phrase: “Prisoners marched out through the gate in rows of five each morning…When they returned to camp, the prisoners carried their fellow prisoners who had collapsed from exhaustion or illness, as well as those who had been worked to death or been murdered during the day.”
Matsson is essentially comparing Living+ – a compound/facility for older people, run by Waystar Royco – to a concentration camp, fronted “the family of Waystar’s cherished movie and TV characters”, like Doderick the dog. Doderick, you’ll remember, is the company’s mascot; star of the fictional kids film (“Doderick and Friends coming this spring!”, promises a poster at Investor Day earlier in this episode) and who Cousin Greg had to dress up as while he was working at the theme park, Brightstar Adventure Park, in the pilot episode.
However the character quickly gets attacked by children when a stoned Greg is out for a stroll in the park (and putting on the dog’s high-pitched voice), and he ends up vomiting through Doderick’s eyeballs.
What were the other tweets about Kendall’s speech saying?
Aside from Matsson’s abhorrent tweet (which, when called out by Shiv later on, he later deleted), otherwise, the general public seemed pretty pumped by the idea of Living+, and, even more so, by the offer of eternal lifem even if it is fronted by a cartoon dog.
On a screenshot of Hugo’s phone, above and under Matsson’s tweet, other comments read:
“Presentation today was totally compelling. I’m going long on KR”; “What would you say to an offer of immortality? I’d say yes fricking please dog. Even if the offer was from a talking dog” and “Who wants to live forever? Me! I’m in! #LivingPlus #Yesplease.”

For sure, the juxtaposition of Rome being emotional and Ken being the steady one is telling. Now, will Rome see it as an opportunity to put his big boy pants on or will he spiral and sabotage everything?

This 100%. I do not know how you would interpret that in any other way. Roman lit up when Ken supported him with the firing of Joy and Gerri (doubt that will be happening).
I am wondering if some people do not catch the facial expressions that tend to be the bread and butter of this show. Succession tends to not spoon feed you with dialogue which can be tough nowadays when people are multitasking (PHONES) during an episode.

Karl is going to be a star in the rewatches of Succession. Not quite as visible, but similar to Bert Cooper and Junior Soprano… Not the main characters, but delivering hot lines all the damn time.

I think it's one of those things that provides a temporary bump but then once everyone realizes he pulled almost all of it out of his arse and the numbers are bullshite everything comes back down to earth. Theoretically the company could be sold by that point but obviously that's not what Roman and Kendall want right now
I hate to say it bc she has a shitload of her own problems but the brothers are making Shiv look awfully competent right now

The best scene is when they are all clapping for Ken to cover their arse even though they are begging for the sale.

Not to mention, potentially criminal.

i like how we are now canceling a fake person for what they fake tweeted

I agree with this. The Logan video confirmed it. I think Kendall, surprisingly , will be the one to successfully move the company forward, but the other 2 will screw it up, for different reasons.
And are we supposed to hate Shiv? Because the things I would do to her for the shite she pulls. She’s the kind of person you’d have no problem walking away if you saw someone beating the shite out of her.

That would be awesome if someone was actually trying to cancel this character.
The German phrase "Arbeit macht frei" was put above the gates at many Nazi camps. It means "work will set you free."
I guess I totally missed that Royco mascot was named Doderick the Dog.

I think you are supposed to hate everyone except for Connor. Unless you aren't down with the Con-head cause.
