So... yes... I hear you. it sucks that Holden disarmed the missle... but it's who he is, in the books and in the show.

Well said, I thought it was completely in line with his character. He isn't some ruthless calculated captain as much as we want him to be that.

Naomi’s family plot should have been cut. It doesn’t work.

I haven't read the books but I can only assume that is like the main plot line. Their family dynamic and everyone fighting Marco

Well… most people care about Drummer. He and Pa were the last of Drummer’s family, and this created a scenario where they could both “abandon” her, bringing her to a clean slate that can now write a new history with the alliance with Crisjean.

I mean… I think that some of you just want the whole show to be nothing but Amos punching people, Bobby going nuts in an MCRN battle suit, and Crisjean cursing a blue streak with the occasional T&A thrown in for good measure.

More Drummer and Draper, less Naomi Nagata would suit me just fine.

I read all the books so I’ll readily admit I’m definitely irrational about how it’s turned out

It just seems to me like another GoT situation where the show runners want to end it as quickly as possible

Spending that amount of time in the penultimate episode of the series for something like that is wild to me.

It’s the last season of what has largely been the only good sci-fi show around in a solace setting. I fail to see the problem when this is potentially the last season. Instead we get boring as frick Naomi drama episode after episode dating back to last season, aimless talking in the same small corridors, and Filips resting bitch face.

Damn right I just wanna see some slick space battles and Amos and Bobbie going ham. I deserve it!

Especially after that mind numbing episode of Naomi banging on walls.

Yeah, Naomi has become such a horrible character. The show would have been better if she died when she spaced herself.

Holden always had better chemistry with the reporter anyway. I mean, they shared a scene for only two seconds this season and their chemistry was superior.

I liked The Expanse, but really got sick of Naomi's family storyline. Felt like it derailed what was seeming to be building to a great climax regarding the Ring. The past two seasons have focused on that and the Belters, while all the mystery of the Ring and what is going on with that has petered out; if Holden hadn't mentioned it I would have forgotten it all by now. If that's the direction the books take, then I doubt I will pick them up anytime soon.

That is because the climax for the ring mysteries comes up in Book 7-9, and this season was from Book 6. Considering they did preview Laconia this season as well as bringing back Dr. Elvi Okoye, I do think they will end up making a movie or two covering the final books. And yes, there is some groundwork laid down in this season that comes into play after the 30 year time jump.

since the series is coming to finale, ive been considering it and have determined that it was doomed from the start. There was no way seasons 5 and 6 could have lived up to seasons 1-4 .

Too many characters and stories that were interesting in seasons 1-4 either died or had their plot finish:

Errinwright
Jules Mao
Miller
Klaes Ashford
Fred Johnson
Dawes (???)

we can bitch about Naomi family drama all we want (and trust me, i have done plenty) , but the show didnt have much a choice on what to focus on based on the source material.

The 'reds', aka Unknown Agressors and Laconia were never going to be resolved on TV so anything interesting pertaining to that is a dead end.

Amos is a shell of his former self
Alex was written off due to other circumstances
Peaches is far less interesting when shes just an engineer and not ripping people's faces off

Avasarala remained interesting and tried to carry the show, but even she would agree the she was way more intriguing when she was hanging belters on spikes back on earth vs whatever she has become now... the leader of a dying planet losing a war against the Belt

The mars defectors on the Barkeith could have had promise this season but they were destroyed by the Unknown Aggressors at the end of s5 traveling the ring gate. At this point in the show, and without knowing anything else about the Unknown Aggresors due to the source material never coming to TV.. it just becomes a dull and unsatisfying ending to another storyline.

Be that as it may..l they could have at least made this shite more interesting with skirmishes in space and an actual war with the belt rather than Filip looking angry and Marco bloviating and Naomi looking depressing.

6 Episodes has always seemed too short. I'm not sure where the decision do so few episodes came from. The Wheel of Time show runner, who shot 2 fewer episodes than were originally planned, seemed to imply that LOTR is sucking up a lot of money that could be going to other shows.

Really enjoyed the bar scene with Amos and Bobbie:

Bobbie: “In the end, the only thing that matters is fighting for who’s covering your flank. It doesn’t matter if they’re saints or assholes. They’re your people—they watch your back and you watch theirs, or you’ve got nothing.”

Something clicks in Amos’ mind and he knows he’ll be heading back to the ship... after one more brothel visit.

Amos: “Want to come with?” he asks Bobbie.

Bobbie: “With you? Or with you?” Bobbie asks.

Amos: “Whatever,” he shrugs.

The belters are soooooooo boring. I'm just pulling for them to run out of water and air at this point. It is more Days of Our Lives than sci-fi at this point.

The five minute mini stories at the beginning of this season have been the best part so far.

For what it is worth I saw somewhere the last episode will be 65 minutes and if they follow book, you guys should get your wish of nonstop action.

Just saw the finale. Lots of action. I wont spoil anything. Look for some cool Easter eggs during one part where names are listed for Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie teams
