The Hangover was very funny, but 40 Year Old Virgin is still my favorite. I can watch that over and over again and still laugh my arse off.

I'm going to see The hangover tomorrow for Fathers Day. I'm going in with the expectations that this will be a funny movie. I don't want o be let down like i was with others. Here is a list of decent movies, but wasn't nearly as good as everyone makes them out to be.

Superbad
40 Year Old Virgin
Pineapple Express
Talledega Nights

I agree.

40 YOV is the best. Hangover was good but mildly disappointing after all the hype. I like Superbad better.

I'd put The Hangover on par with Pineapple Express and Role Models.

Old School is definitely better than The Hangover imo and not really close.

It's just all about preference. I like Old School but I think it's the most overrated of the past few years. I'd rank at least 5 recent movies over that one.

I've also noticed for the most part, the people here saying Superbad was better than The Hangover are pretty young, like around 18.

Again, there's nothing wrong with that. But as a guy who's had a couple of crazy Vegas trips(NOTHING like the movie lol), I'm taking The Hangover over any of those movies, ahead of 40 Year Old Virgin, Talladega Nights and Superbad/WEdding Crashers.

If I had to choose my top 5 funniest movies..

Superbad
Anchorman
Old School
Hangover
Role Models
Seriously? No love for the Mel Brooks classics like Blazing Saddles? Hangover, Old School and Anchorman were funny, but ow you can rank them higher than Blazing Saddles, History of the World, etc. is beyond me.

I agree. When I rank these movie, I tend to think of it as this genre, or these past 5-10 years worth of funny movies.

I didn't think Blazing Saddles was funny, I mean it made me laugh a good amount, but I like this new comedy more. FYI i'm 17.

There's nothing wrong with that if you're 17.

People will bash you, but frick em. You like the movies you're growing up on, just like older people liked the movies they grew up on.

No biggie.

Humor changes. Heck TV is has more crude humor than r-rated movies did 30 years ago. So younger people are could understandably find older movies mild in comparison and not so funny.

I remember when i was 17 the funny movies were Austin Powers and stuff like that. These newer movies (Superbad, Hangover, 40yo Virgin, etc) are much funnier. I think the kid is growing up at a really good time if he likes comedy.

BTW, does no one else like Zach and Miri Make a Porno? Not as good as The Hangover, but still funny. I never see anyone mention it

It was ok, I wasn't a big fan.

A lot of movies get way too sappy towards the end, like Zach and Miri.

That's another reason why Wedding Crashers loses a lot of points with me, way too sappy for the last 40 minutes.

The Hangover, what, about 1 or 2 minutes towards the end were "serious", it was great.

I went watch the movie yesterday, and it was funny, but not as funny as I anticipated. It was not funnier than superbad as someone said on the first page.
