I had no idea this even had a season 2. I thought cavil did one and bounced.

Yeah, The Witcher had warning signs all over it from the moment pre-production started. Netflix announced they were going to go with a diverse cast of actors and the only reason why they ended up not really doing that is because of the backlash they received from the fans. They still gave those fans the finger by race swapping a few characters, however. The writing throughout has also been atrocious and confusing in spots. It took me almost half the first season to figure out the timeline of events.
As soon as Cavill announced he was through with the show after season three I lost all interest. He seemed to be the only person on set who gave a rat’s arse about the characters and the lore.

Yen is such an interesting beauty. Not the traditional beauty but still striking beyond measure.
I don’t enough about the Wild Hunt part of the books but know enough to tell that the writing is off the rails right now. Under no circumstances is Jaskier/Dandelion gay as they’re implying by episode 2. Not hating it but I know this is headed toward stupid.
Geralt, Ciri, and Yen’s chemistry is what makes the show and keeps me watching. Great casting on all 3.

Netflix just can’t help but gay it up and throw in a weird trannie looking lesbian.
It’s annoying they can’t just make their own stupid shows instead of pissing all over actual source material.

That’s because they know that no one would watch.
So they pay for established IP and then “reimagine it for a modern audience”.

They seem to take pleasure in destroying others peoples work by subverting it.

We watched the first 5 this weekend. I honestly like it so far, especially when compared to S2.

Watched s3, all episodes on a plane to the caribbean last week.
I was entertained until ep5. What they tried to do was actually a good idea, but the implementation was so annoying. It just dragged.
Liked them, didnt love them. Any parts without Ciri or Geralt just drag on. I like Yenn but she sucks unless shes with one of those 2. Her chemistry with the other characters is non existent. Yenn's schtick of being naked a ton the first few seasons only to tone it down later is such a bait and switch
Also, its obvious they made Triss dress down/less attractive than shes supposed to be. Blatantly obvious.

That was a bad episode, maybe the worst of the series. It didn’t just drag, it died a slow death while freezing. I wouldn’t have made that the last episode before we have to wait for the second half of the season. Netflix doing this release half the episodes with some series, then making people wait a month or more for new episodes is horse shite, especially after Netflix changed the password sharing.

Can't believe I had to go to page 7 to find a thread on this. So much potential wasted.
Anyway, question without spoilers past s3e1 please. I just watched episode 1 last night and got a little confused when the Redanian King asked Dijkstra if they had anything to do with murdering the elven baby and Dijkstra looked all guilty and uncomfortable. I thought Emhyr said he ordered the hit on the baby? And I remember in S2 before Dara started spying Dijkstra was drinking alone with the owl trying to figure out what Emhyr wanted. Was Dijkstra trying to find a way into Emhyr's inner circle and killed the baby for him?

They also made the other sorceresses fat, gross or fat and gross

it’s wild how unattractive some of the sorceresses are and then some are smoke shows.
like they fixed Yenn’s hump but they left Frigilla looking busted?
this season is choppy as hell.

the casting director came out and said they hired Anya as Yennifer to "challenge beauty standards"
because we're all kicking that chick out of bed

That’s like patting yourself on the back for Diversity Casting Priyanka Chopra.
Yennifer is in the top 1% of females in the world.

according to their casting director she doesn't fit classic beauty standards and they want a pat on the back for choosing her

She’s just trying to take a victory lap for hiring an Indian actress instead of an Eva Green looking white woman like they should’ve based on the books.

Honestly Henry’s last fight of S3 basically came across as him taking out literally all of his frustration with Netflix on Nilfgard lol
