The discussion board has turned into the bitching board any time it's about a black actress.

So that’s the problem, huh? Not the ongoing race and gender swapping in Hollywood, but her skin color?

Interracial family. Black wife, white husband.

That could actually work if it were Bill Burr, and let him be the main character.

Let us know when they come into your house and race swap your partner.

It'll probably be better than the Tom Hanks movie.

Will the retards attack the actress on IG like they did that Odessa count for taking a "Hispanic role"?

I thought Carrie Fisher was so hot in that movie. Six years after her rack played such an important role in Return of the Jedi.

I cant wait for the black remake of "The Money Pit"

quote:

When the Johnsons—an ambitious, big-hearted Black family looking for a fresh start—score what seems like the real-estate deal of the century, they can’t believe their luck: a massive two-story fixer-upper in their old neighborhood for the price of a used car. Sure, it used to be a crack house, but the realtor swears it has “good bones.”

Those bones, however, start breaking immediately.

Moments after moving in, the front porch collapses under Uncle Reggie’s foot, raccoons stage a coordinated takeover of the attic, and the plumbing seems determined to reenact Old Faithful in every room. As they peel back each wall, they uncover everything except good news—hidden stashes, secret passageways used by dealers, and a mysterious basement “architectural feature” that no one can explain.

Still, the Johnsons refuse to give up. Through slapstick disasters, runaway renovation costs, shady contractors, and a neighborhood full of colorful characters who all seem to have a story about the house, the family learns to navigate chaos with humor, grit, and a lot of duct tape.

As things fall apart, the Johnsons come together—proving that a house may crumble, but family doesn’t.

A warm, chaotic comedy about rebuilding a home, reclaiming a community, and surviving the world’s worst renovation… one collapsing wall at a time.

This could work if she parks her car in the middle of the front yard.

I've seen black people criticize the idea of taking existing characters and making them black just for the sake of blackening the story. Just create new stories. Is it that difficult?

Anything is possible. TV shows have the ability to be better than movies. Like Friday Night Lights.

I don’t know why a tv show with a black character would bother anyone. There are interracial marriages all over the country,
and I’m sure plenty of the couples live in suburbs…

An original one wouldn't, and hasn't.

It's the compulsive race swapping in damn near every remake out there that's the problem.

That's not even touching abominations like Netflix's Cleopatra.

I had no idea what you were talking about so I did a quick google search…….wow.

Shouldn’t the outrage crowd be mad at the people doing the casting rather than the actress? It has to be exhausting to be upset all the time (not saying you are).

No offense, but the Tom Hanks/Shelley Long version of the Burbs movie absolutely SUCKED!!! Typical over produced, cheesy, Hollywood studio, cookie cutter, garbage movie.

Why would they attempt to remake this into a series when the entire premise of the original movie was stupid and terrible? Changing colors does not improve the fact that the entire premise is cheesy and flawed from the beginning.

I am about two episodes in. So far, it’s not terrible. I will finish the season.
