vader beat him more than just physically. it was a complete showcase of his awesomeness, probably the best moment is when he used the force to start pelting luke with industrial machinery or whatever that shite is, and luke realizes the extent of his power and how out matched he really is
Yep, especially because he did it all without even having to look at stuff. He stayed focused on Luke. That was something I never understood why they went away from. Vader obviously showed the ability to not have to use his hand to "guide" stuff. He was that strong. Does it once, in mid fight, and it never happens again

She is probably a Skywalker. She just mirrors Luke too much.

Nope.

Eh, he ended a bar fight with the quickness, not to mention went toe to toe with Vader just fine.

That's what frustrates me about reading anyone's theory or whatever that says "oh this guy is the luke of the new trilogy, and this guy is the Han Solo of this movie"
I agree, id love for them to play off this and almost make fun of it. Make Poe seem like the new Han Solo but then betray everyone and become the 2nd sith/dark Jedi behind Kylo.
That way both Rey and Finn will be Jedi. I fully believe that's the direction they're going.

I agree. The only thing I don't really want to see in any way is her being physical equals to male characters. She shouldn't need that with the Force as her ally.

She sure looks like a Skywalker in the trailer when she's tinkering with some motor

see originally, i thought the pacing was fast because of maul...he's so fast and he has a double edge sword and he's fighting two guys...but every single fight was like that and it was boring...that fight also had no emotion to it. there was nothing going on between the characters.
I disagree. The more emotional fights of the prequels, Anakin vs ObiWan, Sidious vs Yoda, weren't as good as the one in Phantom Menance. Other than Vader and Luke in V, I'd be willing to say the battle in Phantom Menance was one of the best.
Yeah none of the characters had much at stake and they didn't know each other, but they don't have to in order for it to be a great fight. Also you have to think, no one had seen a sith for a long time, so Qui Gon and Obi Wan were fighting blind. That lightsaber battle was the only thing good about Episode I and I still watch the fight on YouTube sometimes.

I think the Anakin/Obi Wan fight was better than Phantom. I agree that Phantom was better than Yoda/Sidious, though i think yoda/sidious had some better individual moments (the little force battle at the beginning and Sidious just throwing the Senate at Yoda), but overall it wasn't as good of a fight.

Yeah, he just stands there. Up to that point and even after in Jedi every time we saw someone move objects it was something of a chore. Yoda is Dee in concentration lifting that X wing. Luke does the same in Jedi when lifting c 3po
All of Luke's rock lifting and sword grabbing is difficult because he's had no training
Then you just see Vader point his sword to the ground and menacingly walk forward as he's strategically pelting him with all of this heavy shite
earlier he's just using one hand on his sword and looks like he's toying with him, then later he tells Luke, after cutting off his hand and wrist, that he fricked his mom.
Physically, emotionally and with the force, he just handed Luke his arse with little effort and that fight establishes him as the most badass evil motherfricker

Mail fight had great music a real star warsy setting. The other fights had a bit more than nothing going on, or went on for 50 years or looked like 8 year olds playing Star Wars
I agree it was the best of the prequel fights, but the lack of emotion and stakes is a MAAAAAAJOR knock on it. The others kind of maybe had a little something, but they have the same knock against them
All of the prequel fights are so boring. I'll watch phantom menace but I can't even stomach to watch the other two

1. Empire
2. Jedi
3. Star Wars
4. Phantom
Then all of the other shite with the anakin/obi wan duel easily being the worst. Plinkett said it best. "Anakin is mad at obi wan cuz he's a meany head"

Didn't Vader force choke a guy through a computer/video hookup once?
Though I may be mis-remembering.

Yes he did. It was wonderful.

Obi-Wan in ANH was about the same age as Qui Gon in TPM. Compare the duel with Vader to the duel with Darth Maul
On the subject of duels, I think this is the most underrated fight in the PT: LINK

Based on what?
Eta: I do love that scene you linked. It really shows the pull that Sidious already has over Anakin. The subtlety too of him dropping into his Sidious voice when he says "do it" was a nice touch.
As bad as Christenson is at delivering some of his lines, he really does have good facial awareness and gives some great looks during that scene.

That fight makes no logical sense. Obi-wan gets thrown like a rag doll, but Anakin somehow doesn't get force choked or thrown? I'm guessing this was one of those inconsistencies that was explained away by fan boys as "all part of sidious' plan"

I don't remember if it was ever made official anywhere, but Obi Wan has to be around 20-25 at the start of TPM. TPM is 30 years before ANH, so Obi Wan is at least 50 by Episode 4. I don't see him being any older than 60.
Qui Gon was Count Dooku's padawan, and looks like he has to be around 50-60 at the start of TPM. He's been around for awhile as it is suggested that he could've been on the Jedi Council if he followed the Jedi Code.
Even if we say Qui Gon is 50 in TPM and Obi Wan is 60 in ANH, how do you go from flipping all over the place to looking like you can barely lift your lightsaber?
The official explanation is just that Lucas changed his philosphy for the lightsaber fights going from Episode 4 through the remainder of the movies, but from a storyline perspective, it never made sense how Obi Wan could've lost that much skill in the 18 or so years he was on Tatooine.

Anakin got kicked and was behind Dooku. So Obi Wan got caught off guard? That doesn't make the fight make no logical sense

The real question is she either a Solo or a Skywalker?
My bet is her and Kylo are brother and sister. She knows Han is dad but had a falling out after they kick Kylo out. I bet her and Kylo are friendly to a point.
I don't know just speculating, but I think they are related. Luke probably has no kids, and Han may not even be with Leia.
