Jessup was right.
Yeah I said it.
Jessup was right up until the moment he lied to save his own arse and let his Marines take the fall for something he as a leader chose to do. I have no issue with the order or his handling of the situation with Santiago up until the moment he didnt take ownership of his decision. But for a Marine officer to let a couple junior Marines take the fall for his actions? Hell no. frick Jessup. frick Kendrick too.

Do you plan on doing any investigating, Or just taking the guided tour?

Anyone else ever catch a little tone of antisemitism from Col. Jessup here?
Kind of like The Good Ol’ Boys from “Blues Brothers”: “What you gonna do about it? You gonna stop us…STEIN?”

It’s an object lesson in what happens when these guys cease being about their men and become politicians instead.

Jessup straight up lied in front of the same two subordinates he previously berated in his office (Kendrick and Markinson) during the lunch on base with the JAGs. They didn’t know he was lying but the two marines quite obviously did. All that bluster about saving lives and training marines was BS and those two guys knew it in that moment.
I’m not sure how you respect a leader after that. Jessup is a coward

Loudon Downey looked like a functional retard.

The sneer in his voice when he said Lieutenant Weinberg. He was sneering at the navy, his rank, and his last name.

Thought it was an impression at first but obviously him.

Caffey and Wineburg did nothing but weaken a country to get their ‘win’.

Jessup was the good guy in this movie

I absolutely love the interaction with Tom, how Tom doesn't question at all the order to get the president on the phone that they are surrendering Cuba. It shows how much of an iron fist he has over his command and how no one questions any order he gives.

Santiago was a pussy and a snitch.

Less the iron fist of this specific officer and more the discipline of a Marine to instantly and willingly follow the order of his superior without questioning it.

Thats called brainwashing. Doing something someone tells you to do without hesitation or thinking about it. Its 100 percent what you need for junior enlisted in the Corp.
