All part of the Disney plan. You fell for it.

Poor little Google. All they wanted to do was hook everyone in with a very low introductory price until they outlasted many of their competitors, and have steadily risen prices by about 50% in the years since.

————————————————YouTubeTV needs to come to an agreement soon. If not, I'll cancel and just get the Disney bundle with ESPN and Hulu.
————————————————-
The ESPN and Hulu bundle will not get you what you want. It’s none of the SEC games. You still have to get an upgraded subscription to ESPN

They do it because the Disney's of the world keep demanding more money while requiring EVERY channel be carried

That what I pay for DirecTV. 105 a month and get way more channels. Wever basically came full circle now where cable seems like a reliable option again.

This whole thing sucks. Doesn’t matter whose fault it is. I Don’t care. Not getting what I paid for

I saw this post and wondering about this as an alternative?

- Cancelled YouTubeTV
- Added Hulu Live to my Disney/ESPN/Hulu bundle]
- Cancelled HBO Max and added it as an add on
- Saving $40ish dollars a month and don't have to deal with YTTV anymore

They'll eventually work it out but F both of them.

I had none of these issues. Fubo is great. Was great when I had it before YTTV.

UI used to be better but had to get YTTV for NFL Sunday Ticket and I don’t care that much about the UI.

PS Vue remains goated. Need it to come back

I switched back to Direct TV. Cost about the same as YoutubeTV and the Pelicans+ app.

Have had Hulu live bundle since we got rid of cable. I think their guide is much easier to use than YouTubes. Would maybe do YouTube tv if they offered commercial free YouTube as part of the package

What if I told you that you can pay $15/month and get all of the channels?

What if I told you that you could go to the grocery store and steal your food for free? Yea, stick it to the man! I choose to live ethically. Yes it costs more but I sleep well at night.

So stubborn. Everyone tells them the name confused customers who thought they required a PlayStation to use it or that it was gaming related. Suggest changing the name

Up until this post I had always thought it was a service provided through a physical PlayStation device

YTTV has great features:
a. Portability - watch literally anywhere home, work, camp, tablet, phone, airplane, car etc. Hulu Live locks you in to your zip code and it’s damn near impossible to watch it in multiple geographic locations simultaneously.
b. Multi View. Man I watch multiple games at the same time. Last night particularly would have been helpful watching the World Series and College football like I did Friday Night watching La Tech and the World Series.
c. Sunday Ticket Enough said.

But to not get your shite together and do this the day before college football? Consumers should have some right to be guaranteed your channels. I really don’t like the govt getting involved, but damn this seems like a govt getting involved thing. Hulu/Disney/Fubu all owned and controlled by the same thing Mickey Mouse. That includes our channels ABC, ESPN, SEC. So when YTTV gets put on the ropes by then it seems like extortion. But also YTTV/Googie/Alphabet is way larger than Disney. So they have the money.

So what are our choices?
Support Disney and get Hulu or Fubu?
Support dish and get Sling Orange?
Support Google and get screwed?
I mean Dish is the smallest company but they’ll get pushed around worse than Google.

This sucks. No doubt.

I have an AppleTV box and Fubo has the quadbox. I feel like the UI for YTTV and Fubo are pretty similar.

Also the AppleTV box just organizes on the Home Screen so I can pick up where I left off in any app.

I miss reasonably priced cable TV.

To be fair cable tv offered far less than streaming. It’s like cars. They are more expensive in part because they do way more. Now you might not care about those things but it’s not apples to apples

Is there a way to customize the guide on Hulu live?

I’m trying to help my dad set it up and have looked for hours. Most instructions mention “favoriting” channels by clicking a heart or whatever but we do not see this option. A quick Grok search said it’s common to see these instructions but have a Hulu interface that doesn’t include the favoriting option.

I’ve read enough to be pretty sure you can’t change the order of the guide. But I know there are alternatives that might help.

Adding shows to “my stuff” seems to be a step in the right direction but it’s still not straight forward on what it’s doing or if it’s even convenient.

Does anyone have advice on the best way to set this up so he’s not calling me 5 times a day to find a channel?

Is Disney required to make streaming deals for ABC and ESPN? If not they could effectively end the streaming wars tomorrow. They own Fubo AND Hulu, does it not behoove them to remove their channels from every other platform?

They know if they do that they will be headed to court in an anti-trust lawsuit. That might be happening regardless.
No business can monopolize a major from of communication media without eventual backlash.
It is why AT&T had to breakup.
It is why Microsoft got sued for dominating beyond their Windows OS.

In August 2024, Google was found guilty of monopolizing internet search by signing multibillion-dollar deals to make its search engine the default on browsers and smartphones.

In January 2025, Disney announced it would acquire a 70% stake in Fubo, a sports-focused streaming service.
• This move followed Fubo’s antitrust lawsuit against Disney, Fox, and Warner Bros. Discovery over their planned joint venture, Venu Sports, which was blocked by a federal injunction.
• The Department of Justice (DOJ) is now investigating the Disney-Fubo merger for potential anticompetitive effects.
• Regulators are concerned that Disney’s consolidation of ESPN, Hulu + Live TV, and now Fubo could reduce competition and inflate prices in the sports streaming market.

Do you use the streaming option, or old school dish?
