The early quad, full of Buck's big Rickenbacker, on IRS. 'Driver 8' one of my twenty fav eighties tunes, along with Plimsouls ' Million Miles Away'..it another heavy Rickenbacher tune.

LRP is VERY hard to beat.
Document/Green is what turned me on to them in HS, then I went back to the beginning.
Followed them through OoT & Automatic. Monster was ok, but I fell totally off after that. Just lost interest.
I've been listening to Monster a lot lately and it is a great guitar album.

Murmur
Reckoning
Automatic for the People
Listening to the last three songs on Automatic in a row is still a mellow favorite of mine:
10. "Man on the Moon"
11. "Nightswimming"
12. "Find the River"
John Paul Jones actually did some string arrangements on this album.

for years, my first pick would've been either 'life's rich pageant' or maybe 'reckoning'. but after revisiting their albums not too long ago, i have to go with 'new adventures'. it's aged much more gracefully than many of their other albums IMO. i suspect my love for some of their earlier albums are being viewed with "nostalgia/soundtrack of my college years"-tinged glasses, and i wonder what i'd think of 'em if i heard 'em for the first time today. not trying to diss those albums, 'cuz they're (still) quite valuable to me....all i'm saying is in hindsight, the material on 'new adventures' really does stand on its own IMO...
