Based on the trajectory of music of the 1990’s, and white kids starting to get into hard core rap at the same time, I would have thought that music in the 2020’s would be so unapologetically vile and offensive that I would find it a bit too much. Does the Gen-X to Millenial transition in popular music mark the first time music has gotten LESS offensive?

The boomers introduced drug use in their music (“everybody must get stoned”), the silent generation got it going with “rock and roll” in general. And prior to that we’re talking jazz and folk songs. But in general each generation pushed a boundary that wasn’t pushed before. That seems to stop with Gen-X entirely, and starts reversing itself.

I mean, “Blurred Lines” took some heat, but it’s got nothing on Too $hort or 2 Live Crew’s entire catalogue. And then throw in “OPP” or “It wasn’t me” glorifying adultery. Jeremy spoke in class today by blowing his brains out.

Wet arse pussy

The females were few back then. I’m thinking lil Kim dirty, but is she even mainstream as some of these chicks today?

That’s prob where the diff is. It’s the females bringing it.

Because the majority of ‘rap’ for this generation is sound cloud generated noises and an occasional ‘yuh’ ‘yeet’ ‘skkrttt’ mixed in the mumbling.
I’m sure the lyrics are trying to be equally as edgy, the problem is no one can understand a word these idiots are saying.

I can't name my favorite because he has so many bangers. So many great lines..

I learned sex education from listening to Too Short tapes in the 7th grade.

Dude gets overlooked way too often when people are listing the GOATs.

I like that one where he says:

I wish I was a little bit taller.
I wish I was a baller.
I wish I had a girl who looked good.
I would call her.

But that’s the only one I know, so…
