Prolly won't happen. I'm Goin to check the naval museum in Pensacola tomorrow and then to the minor league baseball game so not gonna be a late night for me anyway. But florabama normally has a good selection of bands. The night is still young.
Eury Perez is throwing for them and he's elite
Huh, might try and make it to a game this week. I live 2 miles from the stadium. Is he only pitching tonight?

Baw, go back to your condo and listen to the waves crash while you sip whiskey.

Yeah. He's a a starter, they have him on a pitch limit so sent him back down for the rest of this year

There were plenty older than me, I did feel pretty old tho. Band was solid tho on main stage and made a few friends. Good crowd last night all in all

I was getting ready to ask how many people in this thread have been to florabama recently. I’m 35 and feel like I’m on the younger side anytime I’m in there.
Granted I don’t stay in there till 2am anymore

Sounds like you might be local. If you know the context of "Nocoolers" then you for sure are a local.
Not exactly, but I am 56 and started going there as a 6 yr old kid. I did the math this summer, and including a few business trips to Mobile, I have "lived" in LA (lower Alabama) for just under two years of my life. So, not a local, but I am finally in a place in life when I can seriously consider making the move over there. Hope to be there in the next 5 years.
Total guess here on the nocoolers thing, but it was painted on the wall of a bar. The old Flora-Bama maybe?

What's up Sal! I thought of you earlier in the thread when answering the question about the bar at the marina.
To jog your (our) memory on who I am, I called you last month for the first time in forever.

Back in the 70s and 80s was a great place. In the 80s on a Sunday night sat at the bar and had a beer with Jimmy Buffett. Use to be a KFC across the street
I had forgotten about that. I can remember going over the bridge at Perdido Pass and the only building you could see looking east was the Flora-Bama.
Mullet toss 1986. I am somewhere on the deck. Not a high rise in sight. Ono Island in the background, begging people to buy a $20K waterfront lot.
The deck.
Owner Joe Gilchrist with the fad of the times...a doctors shirt. Oh, and Gary Bussey in the photo as well.
I have one of those original Flora-Bama tshirts somewhere. The girl in that photo has to be in her sixties by now. RIP Joe.
EXACTLY the same today

You shouldn't allow such things to bother you.

You can check the calendar on their website. It will tell you bands/rooms along with the times.

there was another (smaller) dive bar on the Alabama side next to a phoenix condo I think that had a ring toss game on the back deck. Do you remember what it was called? I’m sure it’s long gone…
