Music players from childhood

Post the things you and your family used to listen to music as far back as you can remember. Our den had something almost exactly like this:
The main things played were Hank Williams and K-Tel compilations bought by my older sisters.
I would then sit by another old POS stereo and record songs off the radio with this:
It's no wonder I get the lyrics wrong on so many 70s tunes.

Nice! My family had a console 8-track and record player similar to the one you posted in our living room in the late 1970s. It was just as much a piece of furniture as it was an entertainment center.
I had the exact red Panasonic contraption you posted, too.
Later, I'd be gifted a "jam box" on my 6th birthday. The first cassette I listened to on it was Michael Jackson's "Thriller," which I was given that same day.
It had a "graphic equalizer," which was considered to be amazing, back then.
That thing lasted so long that I'd later wear-out a tape of Metallica's black album on it. Good times.

Had something like this in my ‘69 Malibu.

I vividly remember the marantz we had in the living room. I’ll have to ask my parents if they still have that thing.

No telling how many records we ruined with that stylus.

Got this bad boy as a kid for Christmas

We had one of those big console phonograph/radio/8-track units.
After the electronics died, we cut them out and my Mom used to store quilts and extra blankets.

I got this same exact unit for Christmas around 1995.

We had one of those big console stereos. When I was young, like in grade school and junior high, I would just sit in a chair in front of it and play albums, particularly the red and blue greatest hits albums by the Beatles. You could stack multiple vinyl discs on the player and when one was done, the arm would move out of the way, and the next disc would drop. Then the arm would move back and play that disc. There were double albums that came with side 1 and side 4 on one disc and side 2 and side 3 on the other so you could just pick them up, flip them over, and reset them so you could easily listen to the whole album in order.
And, of course, if a record was scratched we would put a penny or a nickel on the tonearm to prevent skipping.
Good times.

My friend’s Dad got divorced and picked up one of these for his bachelor pad in like ‘72. He would blast the Barry White on it.

You should. They were great receivers and worth a lot today.

My dad built the Dyna gear from kits
After he died we went to live with my grandpa. We "graduated" to this, on which I first heard Are You Experienced, Strange Days, Surrealistic Pillow, etc
