Just learned yesterday Aimee Mann voiced Opal on Steven Universe and sang several songs on the Steven Universe movie.

Eddie Van Halen played on a Nicolette Larson song. Just ran across this recently.

EVH uncredited guitar

quote:

Ted Templeman started producing her during the last bit of her relationship with Neil Young when it abruptly ended. She got his song, "Lotta Love", out of it.

Ted was driving when he heard Ace's "How Long Has This Been Going On" on the radio and re-arranged the song entirely using a hot new guitarist he had just recorded an album with, "Van Halen". On the track, Eddie is credited as merely "Guitar - ?"

The tack would be pretty light fare without Eddie's playing. The most surprising aspect is the out-of-nowhere and frankly out-of-place VH-esque ending!

Just learned this week in a Stevie Nicks interview that she was pregnant (Don Henley) and had an abortion because she didn’t want a nanny caring for her child while her career was soaring with Fleetwood Mac.

Johnny Cash and Johnny Horton owned a fishing lure manufacturing business in Natchitoches in the early sixties.

The Clash's Joe Strummer completed several marathons.

And she proud of it I guess.
She’s even wrote a new song on the subject.
quote:

Stevie Nicks recently released a new pro-choice anthem, titled "The Lighthouse." The rock legend said she wrote the song in 2022, raising her voice against the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, which eliminated women's right to abortion. "Don't close your eyes and hope for the best / The dark is out there / The light is going fast / Until the final hours," she sings. "Your life's changed forever / And all the rights that you had yesterday / Are taken away / And now you're afraid / You should be afraid." "They'll take your soul they'll take your power/ Unless you save it". "And that's that/ Unless you stand up and take it back," the Fleetwood Mac frontwoman sings. "It seemed like overnight, people were saying, 'What can we, as a collective force, do about this…'. For me, it was to write a song," Nicks said in a statement. She added, "I have often said to myself, 'This may be the most important thing I ever do'. To stand up for the women of the United States and their daughters and granddaughters and the men that love them. This is an anthem." In an interview with People, Nicks mentioned the names of Sheryl Crow and Dave Cobb, who helped her with the production of the song.

And something else no one cares about she has admitted recently
quote:

Stevie Nicks on Waiting Until 70 to Vote: “I Regret That, and I Don’t Have Very Many Regrets” “The Lighthouse” singer is using her platform to advocate for reproductive rights.

I love Stevie Nicks as a Musician but she can keep her political position and her new abortion song. She lying to herself is she says she doesn’t regret it deep down.

I remember my mind was blown upon learning that Duane Allman riffed the iconic ending to Layla on the spot on recording day. Insane.

Joey Ramone asked Bruce Springsteen to write a song for The Ramones... so he wrote Hungry Heart...

His manager, Jon Landau, convinced him to keep it for himself..

When Luther Dickinson of North Mississippi Allstars was a teenager he played the guitar solo on the song Shooting Dirty Pool by the Replacements. His dad produced the album Please To Meet Me.

I've known for a while but it was a surprise to learn that Jimmy Page played the Stairway to Heaven solo on a 1959 Fender Telecaster. I had assumed he did it on a Gibson Les Paul because the pictures I had always seen showed him using one (Gibson).
